BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Mark Stipe to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board serves to regulate public policy of the state’s gaming industry.
According to statute, the board is comprised of nine gubernatorial appointments, seven representing each congressional district and two at-large members. Of the nine appointments, five must be appointed per the recommendation of state public academic institutions of higher education presidents. All nine appointments are subject to senate confirmation.
Mark Stipe, of Lafayette, is vice president of and general counsel for Omni Energy Services Corp., an oil and gas services company. He is also a board member for the Little League of Lafayette and is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Lafayette. Stipe will serve as an at-large member and a nominee of the president of the University of Louisiana Lafayette, as required by statute.
