Louisiana Gov. Jindal Signs More Bills

BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced that he has signed the following bills passed by the legislature into law:

HB 43 – Geymann

This bill relates to changes to express warranties on new motor vehicles.

HB 164 – Lorusso

This bill relates to temporary successors for legislators called to active duty in the armed forces.

HB 535 – Ponti

This bill relates to the allocation of death benefits to dependents of injured workers.

HB 547 – Ponti

This bill provides for the time and procedure for submission of filing fees as relates to Workers’ Compensation.

HB 554 – P. Smith

This bill relates to the discontinuance of businesses in violation of workers’ compensation laws.

HB 598 – Ligi

This bill repeals the provision that if a member of the Jefferson Parish School Board qualifies for elective office, his school board office is thereby vacated.

HB 607 – Lopinto

This bill relates to the amount of time on the remittance of taxes by a motor vehicle dealer.

HB 832 – Henry

This bill relates to permits for sealed intermodal containers.

HB 844 – Tucker

This bill relates to lobbyist disclosure forms and disclosure reports for the executive and legislative branches.

HB 945 – Monica

This bill relates to parishes and municipalities removing abandoned motor vehicles.

HB 968 – Edwards

This bill relates to non-compete agreements.

HB 1266 – Baldone

This bill provides for the allocation of monies in the Medical Assistance Program Fraud Detection Fund.

SB 23 – Crowe

This bill requires certain information to be included in lobbyist expenditure report forms.

SB 51 – McPherson

This bill relates to the rights of gun owners to transport and store their lawfully owned firearm in their privately owned motor vehicle.

SB 56 – Michot

This bill allows a member of an appointed board or commission to recuse himself in the case of a conflict of interest.

SB 212 – Marionneaux

This bill requires the Department of Economic Development to make recommendations as to the feasibility of projects related to the Louisiana Airport Authority.

SB 240 – Cravins

This bill changes the limits of liability of the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association from $150,000 to $300,000.

SB 275 – Mount

This bill authorizes, subject to the adoption of school board policies, the denial or suspension of driving privileges to a minor who fails to meet compulsory school attendance requirements and has withdrawn from school or is habitually absent or truant.

SB 373 – Duplessis

This bill relates to the OMV providing electronic lien recordation and title information of motor vehicles.

SB 388 – Donahue

This bill provides standards for compensating public school personnel for developing, calibrating, or administering certain standardized tests.

SB 407 – Donahue

This bill prohibits any sale, lease, or contract for operations of bridges more than five miles in length without legislative approval.

SB 451 – McPherson

This bill relates to the requirement for the Joint Highway Priority Construction Committee to hold public hearings in each highway district.

SB 493 – McPherson

This bill provides for records of “safety sensitive infrastructure” concerning DOTD.

SB 528 – Michot

This bill authorizes the treasurer to annually deposit monies from the Louisiana Lottery Proceeds Fund to the Compulsive and Problem Gaming Fund.

SB 644 – Adley

This bill authorizes the establishment of the Veterans Commemorative Coin Program by the adjutant general for certain veterans.

SB 667 – Adley

This bill provides restrictions and disclosure requirements for contracts involving certain public servants and certain affiliated individuals and entities.

SB 770 – Chaisson

This bill relates to financial disclosures of lobbyists.

SB 771 – Hebert

This bill authorizes the operation of “mini-vehicles” on streets and highways in Louisiana with the exception of interstates.

SB 780 – Crowe

This bill creates the Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal Authority.

SB 793 – Shepherd

This bill authorizes prestige license plate for New Home Ministries Community Development Corporation.
