Governor Blanco, the Louisiana face of Katrina and Rita, today has decided not to run for re-election for 2007.Governor Blanco made her statement statewide. She said that she was not running for re-election so she could take politics off the table for the rest of her initial term and during the rebuild of Louisiana.
Governor Blanco made the announcement after a day of rumors forecasting her decision.Blanco said that she wanted the legislature to pass her education package (and presumably her entire legislative agenda) and for it to be free of politics.
Her decision came as a surprise to some who wanted her to wait until after the legislative session so she would be able to maximize her power rather than be a lame duck Governor.
According to pollster, Bernie Pinsonat of SMOR, there might have been other reasons for her decision not to run.“In a poll from today, she had dropped eight points since January”.Pinsonat also said that since Katrina “she was never able to gain the confidence of the voters. Her image from the very first four days became the image indelible in the minds of the voters and every day that went by she kept dropping in the polls”.
Pinsonat also said that “Blanco has a slow and deliberate style which did not serve her well when people wanted confidence. She was hurt by her own style that has done well for her--but during a crises, she looked overwhelmed which hurt her”.
Blanco will serve until January 2008.Regardless as to the real decision for her not running, Blanco will have the power of the veto during the next legislative session, power of executive orders and will help set policies during the major part of the Louisiana and New Orleans rebuild.
To: "Cajun Joe" - One last thing - You are obviously a Democrat. I want you to seriously think about something - In U.S. Veterans Hospitals across the USA, there are seriously wounded, brave American Warriors recovering from combat that have lost arms, legs, and worse. There are Democrats, more than just a few, that have and are, demonstrating against the wars in Iraq, and Afghanistan, right in front of those hospitals. Don't tell me otherwise, because I have personally witnessed this sickening demonstration. You are a Democrat, and in practice, you are supporting those demonstrations. You cannot separate yourself from those rotten excuses of humanity, because in principle, you belong to the same organization as they do. Unfortunately, one day, the Muslim terriorists will be on our doorstep slaughtering innocent men, women and children. It will make 9/11 look like a tea party in comparison. Democrats are weak, and cowardice in the face of adversity. The Muslim terriorists know this all too well. God help you "CJ". Oh, Democrats don't like that word - God!
THIS IS THE END!

TO: "CAJUN JOE" - MAN, YOU MUST LIVE ON ANOTHER PLANET! RACE CARD? NAGIN AND HIS CRONIES ARE THE RACISTS, NOT ME. I DIDN'T MENTIONED BLANCO AND NAGIN, YOU DID. ALSO, JINDAL DID NOT REQUEST NAGIN TO SUPPORT HIM! YOU'RE WRONG ABOUT THE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO LOUISIANA - CHECK IT OUT AND REPORT BACK. BUSH CANNOT SPEND ONE SINGLE PENNY WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM CONGRESS. BLANCO CONTRACTED WITH A VIRGINIA COMPANY TO MISMANAGE THE LHRA FUNDING AT THE TUNE OF - $875,000,000, OF WHICH, $27,000,000 IS FOR THEIR TRAVEL EXPENSES. TELL ME OH GREAT ONE - WHERE DOES ALL OF THE MONEY COME FROM TO WASTE ON THAT VIRGINIA COMPANY. HHMMM, I WONDER HOW MUCH OF A SLICE THAT THE TEACHER FROM COTEAU IS GOING TO LEAVE OFFICE WITH! WHY DON'T YOU BASH BLANCO INSTEAD OF PRESIDENT BUSH? BLANCO IS THE ONE THAT HAS BLOCKADED THE REBUILDING PROGRAM. MAN, GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHTENED OUT. BY THE WAY "CJ", DID YOU SERVE IN THE U.S. MILITARY? IF NOT, I SUPPOSE THAT YOU SHOVELED "DONKEY DONG" WHILE THE REST OF US SACRIFICED SO THAT YOU, AND THE FLAG BURNING, YELLOW-BELLIED DEMOCRATS COULD HELP TEAR DOWN THIS ONCE PROUD, AND WONDERFUL COUNTRY. YOU'RE A DEMOCRAT, AND SO IS JANE FONDA. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? YOU'RE A MALE AND SHE'S A FEMALE? BRAIN? COME ON "CJ", THE PARTY OF JANE FONDA, JESSE JACKSON, AND HILLARY CLINTON ARE DEVOID OF BRAINS, THEY ONLY KNOW HOW TO BE MEAN SPIRITED AND RADICAL! BRAINS? IT TAKES A HUMAN TO POSSESS BRAINS, AND THOSE PEOPLE ARE SUB-HUMAN SPECIES!!

Hey Charles, let's not forget that Ray Nagin endorsed Piyush Jindal for governor. Ya'll don't want him no more? Hahaha. This is a sad effort for you to place the race card and tag it to Blanco. Blanco and Nagin have never been friends. He talks to Jindal more often than he does to Blanco. Wake up man. On the interest question about the billions, that money is at HUD in Washington. It doesn't come to Louisiana until a couple of days before a homeowner gets his money. The only one earning interest if any is HUD, but then the biggest spender in all governmental history, George BUSH is BORROWING the money...so we are PAYING interest to the feds for it. Perhaps, you think it funny to talk about brain washing, but you have to have one to get washed! Zombies just run over the cliff like we are doing in Iraq. I am sure you support that lunacy, too!

Responding to "Cajun Joe" - Dear "cajun", unfortunately for you, I am not a sexist, but your darling Governor that is on the way out, is a sexist! check out how many males that she kicked out of position then replaced them with females during her reign. The numbers will stagger you - 80-20. Check it out. By the way, Babblin, Bobblehead and her administration have been holding on to billions of dollars over the past year! Where is the interest for "our money", "Cajun Joe", huh? How much is her LRHA scam operation costing us "Cajun Joe", huh? Can't hear you! Let's talk about your buddy, that 100% racist, Democratic Mayor of yours, Clarence Raymond Nagin. He thinks that we're all stupid when he makes racist remarks, then tells the world some absolutely, cocka bonga tale, that he didn't say what he said. "Cajun Joe", if you or I were to do just 1% of what Nagin does and says, we would be tarred, feathered, and run out of the country. Listen to these words very carefully - "double-standards". Just try saying - "Vanilla City", and the political correctness gestapo agents would drag you out of your house, and feed you to the "rap crappers"! No "Cajun Joe", you have been completely brain washed by the ultra, left-winged, liberal party of the Jesse Jacksons, Hillary Clintons, Al Gores, Teddy Kennedys, Al Sharptons, Jane Fondas, and on, and on, and on. Help is on the way, but it ain't gonna be another Socialist Democrat, and he ain't gonna ball like a baby in the debates either.

Apparently Mr. Hall was expressing his feelings completely when he first penned the word "feminine" since he is clearly a sexist. Well, that is the republican party, isn't it? As for Piyush "Bobby" Jindal, if he would have spent his time helping the recovery instead of letting Mississippi run off with all the money instead of giving speeches in his campaign for governor in Bastrop and other places 200 miles away from the destruction, maybe we would have gotten funded properly by his party that was in power. In the meantime, he and Vitter did find time to kill the Baker bill for recovery. What a pair! And this is what Louisiana has to look forward to? Wow! Their Washington thinking is worst than the other Reconstruction of New Orleans after the Civil War with corruption and cronyism. Now we have Jeb Bush's business partner selling defected pumps that were placed on the 17th Street Canal last year. When will it stop? And what do Jindal and Vitter know and when did they know it?

Regarding my comments in the previous memo where that I used the word - feminine. To those decent and wonderful ladies, please accept my apologies. The word in describing Blanco's attitude, should have been - "feminist", as relates to left-wing arrogance.
Thank you.

Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, we will soon be free of the worse Governor that Louisiana has ever had! The only reason that Blanco got elected to the office in the first place, was because she used her son's death in the the final gubernatorial debate between she and Bobby Jindal. The question to the candidates was - express the most dramatic event of their lives. At the time, Jindal was up three points in the polls. Blanco began telling about her son's death, and broke down, and sobbed for minutes. After the debate Blanco was up three points in the polls. She knew exactly what she was doing! After Katrina, Blanco's true arrogant personality began to emerge. Since that time, Blanco has taken the people of Louisiana down a worse road then that of the hurricane. She has been totally incompetent in the rebuilding process, The road back home program is a total disaster. Oh, and in standing up to the President of the United States as she did right after "katrina", Blanco did absolutely nothing more than to further indicate what an obstructionist that she was and is. That feminine way of - "I'll show you who the boss is around here"' has hurt the people of this great state terribly because of Blanco's arrogance and incompetence. I can guarantee that after the first year that Bobby Jindal is in the Governor's seat, that he will have taken Louisiana from the outhouse to the penthouse. Until then, "Babblin Blanco" will just continue to mumble and stumble. God help us!

I honor Kathleen Babinaux-Blanco for her courage in making a decision for which some arrogant critics will lambast her. In my view, her decision is an expression of her obvious love for Louisiana. It is probable that Huey Long or Alexander Mouton would not have emerged from this disaster with reputations intact, and in politics reputation is everything. I am particularly proud of the way that she stood up to George Bush. The merciless voter, addicted to televised publicity for political leaders as thought they were cars for sale or a new beauty product, will not forget the images of Kathleen in her grief, yet most of us were grieving just as deeply. If I seem to have little respect for the voters, I do, since I judge the voters by the results of the last two presidential elections. Since the voters are merciless, Kathleen and Louisiana would have experienced a disastrous campaign in a disastrous year. I am grateful to her for choosing to let us all focus on the state's future, and I for one nominate her for Governor Emerita, Counsellor to the Realm and welcome to my house to dance a two-step and have a glass of wine any time she comes to New Orleans! (By the way, you should spell it "Buzz right back".)
