As most of you know, singer/actress Brandy got into a brutal car accident, which resulted in the death of a woman named Awatef Aboudihaj. And as a result, her family has filed a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit against Brandy on Tuesday. Also... the California Highway Patrol has recommended that she be charged with vehicular manslaughter for her role in the deadly freeway crash. However, a coalition of black community leaders are urging Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo to reject the recommendation, claiming that the actress is being used as a "political trophy."
Um...What the color of her skin has to do with any of this, I have no idea. But... whatever.
In other news, Britney Spears is putting her Malibu home she shared with K-Fed up for sale for a whopping $13.5 million, reported the Los Angeles Times.
And in response to all the unnecessary controversy over Kevin Federline's upcoming Super Bowl commercial for Nationwide Insurance, he said he never meant to insult fast-food workers like the leading restaurant association inferred. He was merely poking fun of himself stating, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em."
Something I believe he just might be able to do. My prediction is that in the upcoming year, Federline will turn his image around. It's just a hunch!
Moving on... writer/director Quentin Tarantino is going to receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Awards at the 57th Annual ACE Eddie Awards on February 18th. However, what I want to know is how many of these award ceremonies are there? Geez! Aside from the Golden Globes, Emmys, Oscar Awards, SAG, WGA, and DGA... I can't keep up with all of them. Can you?
Next up, it looks as if Isaiah Washington will be returning to Grey's Anatomy on Thursday after receiving counseling for his recent gay slur at the Golden Globes.
"I appreciate the fact that I have been given this opportunity and I remain committed to transforming my negative actions into positive results, personally and professionally," said Washington.
Although I've sort of mocked this whole big "behavioral rehab" ordeal, I must say that Washington really did make a huge attempt to correct his bad move. He has made a very sincere gesture towards making amends to the gay community. And for that, I truly respect him. Bravo, Washington!
Finally, Jennifer Aniston has hit the tabs once again! This time, the "top story" is about a nose job! Ahhh! God forbid!
Forget the fact that she is a brilliant actress, and a beautiful person - the girl had surgery! Again, ahh!
It's so ridiculous!
At any rate, People magazine sat down with Aniston and asked her about it, point blank.
"It's funny," said Aniston. "I had [a deviated septum] fixed - best thing I ever did. I slept like a baby for the first time in years. As far as all the other [rumors - boob job, etc...]. as boring as it sounds, it's all mine. All of it. Still mine."
She added: "I really am pretty happy with what God gave me."
