The Late Show With David Letterman should be more fresh and newsy as the Writers Guild of America worked out their deal with Worldwide Pants, so Letterman can be more current.  The return of the writers will return with full writing staff.  Also, the agreement includes that later CBS show with Craig Ferguson. 

This agreement is with the production company and not with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. 

Now, with the political primary season upon us, viewers will watch and hear some of those jokes from Hollywood as the candidates hit the campaign road.

Speaking of writing.  So, what do you think about an essay award that turned out not to be true and so the award was taken back. 

First, a 6-year-old girl won four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert in New York because of her essay claiming her "daddy died this year in Iraq."

But, the story was not true and her mom acknowledged that but the company said they wanted a true story, not a fake one.  The result is a swearing match between the contest host and the initial winner over writing expectations.  Sounds like a good skit for David Letterman, doesn’t it?

Attorneys for Robin Wright Penn have written their divorce lawsuit papers citing irreconcilable differences.  Sean had been married to Madonna earlier in his career.  The Penns will be seeking joint custody of their two children.

Another Harry Potter book?  According to London's Daily Mail, author J.K. Rowling is debating the possibilities.  We’re sure she will do what is right for her—to write or not to write.
