Golden Globe, Minnelli, Britney Spears, Ike Turner, Spice Girls: Hollywood Buzz

Award season is approaching in Tinseltown and first up on our list is the 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Nominations have just been announced and the new film, Atonement, starring Keira Knightley and James McEvoy takes the lead. Competing against Atonement in the Best Drama Category are American Gangster, Eastern Promises, No Country for Old Men, The Great Debaters, Michael Clayton and There Will Be Blood.

In the Best Comedy or Musical category, Charlie Wilson's War, Hairspray, Juno, Sweeney Todd and my personal fav, the Beatles-inspired musical Across the Universe gained noms.

Next up, Liza Minnelli collapsed onstage while performing a Christmas concert in Sweden on Wednesday and was rushed to the hospital where she spent the night. The following day, the singer flew back to the United States where she is recovering. As of now, there is no word on what caused the collapse. Regardless, I wish her a speedy recovery! She is a spectacular singer and from what I've heard, an incredible human being.

Another slip and fall on stage occurred during Monday's Spice Girls concert where Baby Spice a.k.a. Emma Bunton tripped and sprained her ankle. She hopes to be better before the group's next show on Saturday in London.

For anyone who saw What's Love Got To Do With It, this news won't be too tough to take. Hey, I'm just keeping it real. Ike Turner, Tina Turner's ex, died Tuesday at his home outside of San Diego. He was 76-years-old.

Although K-Fed's legal team was prepared to get Britney Spears in their hot seat on Wednesday, the pop singer pulled a no-show. A source close to the case stated that Spears "anxiety level was too high" to keep the appointment and she was feeling sick.

Finally, here's a complete list of Golden Globe nominations. Have a wonderful day and thank you for reading Hollywood Buzz.
