It's Valentine's Day and that means if you are a couple, do something sweet for your sweetie, and if you are a swingin' single, do something super sweet for yourself!  

Like.... going to see Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant's new release, Music and Lyrics. Written and directed by Marc Lawrence, this fun romantic comedy centers around a washed up 80's singer, (Grant), who has only a few days to compose a new song. Having never written lyrics before, this ONE comeback chance appears hopeless until an offbeat younger gal with a flair for words (Barrymore) enters the picture.

Although comedies aren't always my cup of tea, Barrymore definitely is, which is why I went to a special screening for this flick and surprisingly loved it! While the trailer seemed kind of silly, the movie is truly a gem!

 I promise, you won't be disappointed! So grab some fat-free popcorn, a few Valentine chocolates, and a bottled water from the local store, sneak it into the theatre to avoid the movie house "airport-style" costs, and enjoy the show.

 In other news, American Idol was on last night and a surprising Cowell reject turned out to be the winner of "My Grammy Moment" contest.  Although Ms. Robyn Troup made it through to Hollywood, and got the chance to sing alongside Justin Timberlake at Sunday's awards show, Troup was sent packing on Tuesday's Idol. No worries, though. Homegirl accomplished what millions of young women spend a lifetime dreaming about. And there is always next year for American Idol.

 Year after year, Paula Abdul has remained in the limelight in one way or another. And according to the pop star turned Idol judge, this is proof that she is not using drugs or boozing it up.

 "I've never been drunk. I have never done recreational drugs. Just look at my 20-year career," said Abdul to US Weekly. "Tell me someone who is into partying or doing drugs that could have done that."

Howard Stern (minus the K) is going to celebrate with girlfriend Beth Ostrosky after announcing on his Sirius Satellite radio show that he popped the question. Congrats, K-less Stern!

 And Howard (with the K) Stern's deceased partner, Anna Nicole Smith, has been ordered to be held for DNA testing in the ongoing paternity dispute over her 5-month old daughter Dannielynn, a Florida judge decided Wednesday.

 Finally, Jenny McCarthy was on Good Day L.A. this morning, chatting up her hosts about her sweetie, Jim Carrey. Dating since last summer, the twosome were spotted at Carrey's premiere for The Number 23 last eve and are planning a hot date tonight.

 "It's going to be good," stated Carrey.
