Sometime today, the results of the DNA tests that could determine who fathered Anna Nicole Smith's seven-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, are expected to be revealed. According to TMZ.com, if Larry Birkhead is the father, Howard K. Stern said that he will step aside and allow Birkhead to take over in order to do what is best for baby Dannielynn.
However, Stern has also retained services of Powell Goldstein LLP lawyer Lin Wood, who famously acted as the legal counsel for John and Patsy Ramsey, in order to protect himself from further scrutiny in the public.
“My representation of Stern will focus on individuals and entities guilty of making false accusations of criminal conduct against him related to the tragic deaths of Anna Nicole Smith and her son, Daniel,” Wood said in a statement, adding that he would also look into 'the theft of personal property of Smith and/or its unlawful use, sale or other misappropriation in the media'.
JustinTimberlake told the media that all the news swarming in about his plead to Britney Spears to "stop drinking" are based on complete and utter fiction. Timberlake spoke openly about it to British GQ, stating, "...I'm so far removed from that situation."
Removed from traditional filmmaking, QuentinTarantino is best known for his unique views in presenting a movie to audiences. Pulp Fiction's unusually cool storytelling put him on the map and since then, Tarantino has continued to impress even the harshest film critics. However, with the ADHD generation upon us, a film's time frame should only be sooolongggg. Although Tarantino's latest flick, Grindhouse, was expected to rock at the box office, it only ended up coming in at fourth place with roughly $11 million. The problem? It's 3-hour plus time slot. Therefore, although producer Harvey Weinstein is waiting to see how the horror film does in its second weekend release, he is contemplating splitting Grindhouse into two features.
After radio host, Don Imus called Rutgers players "nappy-headed hos" on air, CBS Radio and MSNBC suspended him for two weeks, effective April 16. On air Monday, Imus was the latest to take Reverend Al Sharpton's hot seat as he apologized profusely for his comments.
Don't people learn from the mistakes of others? Well, come to think of it, do I? Nope. I suppose most of us must figure it out the hard way.
Another one bites Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, and Isaiah Washington's dust!
Moving on...
Bravo is adding a reality pilot to the mix called Take My Ex, in which recently divorced spouses play matchmaker for one another, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The hour-long episode begins with a couple discussing their marriage and breakup followed by giving them each a chance to find a better mate for the other.
Ouch!
And finally, in yesterday's column, I mentioned my 2-part interview and photo shoot with the awesome, Leland Chapman, and some of you wrote in asking what this was all about. In the world of journalism, it's somewhat of a lengthy process to put an article together, especially if it is the cover story of a nationwide magazine. First, you conduct the interview, and then schedule the photo shoot at a future date, depending on the publication. Finally, the interview tapes are transcribed - (which can take quite a while), the article gets written, photos are hand-picked, polished and ready to go and then wa-la, the article is finally complete.
Leland Chapman's exclusive 6-page article (with photos to die for) will be available in the August edition of Stone magazine - www.stone-mag.com.
I hope you love it! Honestly, Leland was one of the sweetest, most humble, funny, and incredible human beings I've met. I can't wait to share his story with all of you.
Thanks for reading Hollywood Buzz. Until tomorrow, that's a wrap.
