While many people spent this Easter weekend with family and friends, relaxing and enjoying their time off, I had a big three day photo shoot to run for Leland Chapman (son of Dog Chapman). It began in February, when I got the privilege of meeting Leland at a West Hollywood hotel for an in-person interview. Instantly, I loved him! He is funny, humble, sweet... but has a roughness about him that makes it completely obvious why so many of us girls are in awe of him. And just as I was sorry to see him go back to Hawaii in February, I was sorry to see this weekend project of mine end.
Last night, I did my final follow-up interview with Leland and as he spoke, I was more and more amazed by him. He is an old soul with such a fantastic outlook on life. Although he is somewhat of a loner who keeps to himself, when fans passed the hotel lobby and said hello him, Leland bashfully smiled from ear to ear and thanked them for supporting his families' endeavors.
While his case in Mexico over the capture of Max Factor heir, Andrew Luster (serial rapist) is still pending, Leland is prepared for what may come because he isn't going to let it "ruin his life." Rather than expect the best or the worst, he is going to accept whatever happens and then move on from there.
Leland is so much more than I expected and once again, I felt deeply saddened to see him go. And my Easter Sunday blues continued when I got home and turned on HBO. As most of you know, the final nine episodes of The Sopranos has officially begun, which means the end is near.
Last night's episode centered around Tony, Carmela, Janice and Bobby spending time at their lake house to celebrate Tony's 47th birthday. As we listened to the birds chirp in the background, although the atmosphere was peaceful, their was something incredibly dark underlying their mini-vacation. Without being able to put our fingers on what was wrong, gloom hovered in the shadows. You couldn't see it, but you could feel it.
As the night progressed, drinking, singing karaoke, and board games ended in a fist fight between Bobby and Tony after he started poking fun of his sister. Yet, despite Tony's swollen eye, nothing came out of it... yet. However, Tony was embarrassed and Bobby was disturbed. And there is more... something is brewing in both Tony and Bobby's minds but what, exactly, I have no idea.
In part one, season six, Tony was shot by Uncle Junior, his own flesh and blood. And last night, in part two of the sixth season, Tony was pounded by his close friend and "employee." What does all of this mean? Your guess is as good as mine.
All I know is this... Just like I didn't want to say goodbye to Leland Chapman, I don't want to say goodbye to The Sopranos. But, as they say, all good things must come to an end.
In other news, according to TMZ.com, Howard K. Stern is surrendering to the outcome of the upcoming DNA tests and if Birkhead is, in fact, Dannielynn's father, then he will not stand in the way.
"If Larry Birkhead is confirmed to be Dannielynn's biological father, Howard will not challenge custody. His love for her will not change, irrespective of the results. Howard will act in Dannielynn's best interest, because he loves her and would want a smooth transition to protect her, as she is deeply bonded to those who have been with her since birth," reported a source to TMZ.com.
What Howard K. Stern feels strongly about is making sure that Dannielynn does not wind up in the hands of Virgie Arthur. He loved Anna Nicole Smith and is also aware of her feelings for her mother and why Smith was so dead set against Virgie Arthur being in her children's lives. This Tuesday, DNA results will be revealed in a Bahamas courtroom. Stern, Birkhead and Arthur will be there.
All work and only some play makes Leonardo DiCaprio, who has just signed on to star in the upcoming action flick, Body of Lies, with Ridley Scott directing, reported Variety. Written by The Departed's William Monahan, the story centers around a CIA agent on the trail of an Al Qaeda operative. DiCaprio and Monahan are also set to work together on the remake of the Hong Kong thriller, Confessions of Pain. And need I remind you that DiCaprio and Winslet are teaming up for a new project while Scorsese's "Wallstreet" drama is in the works, with DiCaprio to possibly play the main character.
Wowser! And I thought my schedule was over-booked.
At this weekend's box office, Blades of Glory topped the box office for the second week in a row with $23 million in ticket sales. In second place, Meet the Robinsons brought in $17 mill and the highly anticipated horror flick Grindhouse opened at fourth place with $11.6 million.
Finally, comedian Ken Marino wrote and starred in his latest upcoming flick Diggers and I'm off to meet him for an interview so I've got to run.
I hope you all had a fun weekend! Thank you so very much for reading Hollywood Buzz!
