The City of New Orleans will hold its 2009 internet-based tax sale at www..neworleanstaxsale.com on December 2nd and 3rd, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. All properties available for sale are currently listed.
Registration opened online on Monday, November 9, 2009 and will remain available through the conclusion of the tax sale. All visitors to the site may search the properties listed, but registration is required to participate in and make bids during the tax sale.
The Internet tax sale method allows purchasers from any location the opportunity to view property information (location, values, tax history, etc.) and satellite imagery of the tax sale eligible properties.
All users wishing to participate in the 2009 tax sale must register online at www.neworleanstaxsale.com. All properties listed for tax sale will be available for bidding throughout the duration of the tax sale, and participants shall bid on a percent interest in the property. Winners shall not be determined until the close of the tax sale, at which time the lowest percent interest submitted for each property shall be selected as the winning bid. In the event of multiple bids of the same amount on a property, the first to submit said bid will be the winner. Individuals wishing to participate who do not have either computer or Internet access will be able to access computers at City Hall to the public expressly for tax sale purposes, during the hours of the sale on December 2nd and 3rd. The exact location of the computers will be announced prior to the sale.
Property owners whose properties are eligible for sale were sent a certified notice at the address provided by the property owners to their district assessor. Additionally, general notifications and tax sale advertisements listing all sale eligible properties were published in the Times-Picayune on October 20, 21, 27and 28, 2009.
Property owners may pay overdue taxes and remove the property from the sale by calling 1-888-860-0449 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Central Time.

LSU MBA
On Friday, Administaff Inc. Chairman of the Board, CEO, and Co-founder Paul J. Sarvadi, will conclude the LSU Flores MBA Program’s 2009 Fall Distinguished Speaker Series. The event will be held at LSU’s Energy, Coast & Environment Building, located on Nicholson Drive Extension, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Mr. Sarvadi attended Rice University and the University of Houston prior to starting and operating several small companies. He has served as president of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations and was a member of its board of directors for five years. He has also served as the president of the Texas Chapter of NAPEO for three of the first four years of its existence.
In 1995, Mr. Sarvadi was selected as Houston's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for service industries and was awarded the 2001 National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for service industries. In 2004, he received the Conn Family Distinguished New Venture Leader Award from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, and he was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 2007.
The LSU Flores MBA Distinguished Speaker Series is an integral part of the LSU Flores MBA Program. Students gain insight through the series into new ideas and forces shaping American and international business from executives who face these issues daily.
