Donald T. “Boysie” Bollinger has been elected to the board of directors of First Bank and Trust.
Bollinger is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., a full-service marine construction and ship repair company formed in 1946 headquartered in Lockport, La., and operating 12 divisions in Louisiana and one in Texas.
“Boysie’s knowledge of the Gulf Coast markets served by the financial-services subsidiaries of First Trust Corporation, as well as his vision and leadership, bring tremendous strength to our organization,” said J. Michael Brown, president and CEO of First Bank and Trust. “We look forward to his counsel and guidance as we continue to expand our services to our small-business, consumer and commercial customers.”
Among his extensive community involvement, Bollinger is a member of the Louisiana Recovery Authority and the Bring New Orleans Back Commission, both of which are helping to lead rebuilding efforts in New Orleans and other Louisiana markets impacted in 2005 by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He also is chairman of the Nicholls State University Foundation and a member of the National Petroleum Council.
He formerly served on the President’s Export Council under President George H.W. Bush and previously was chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans, the National World War II Museum, the Business Council of New Orleans and other community-based organizations.
Bollinger received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Louisiana/Lafayette.
