The National Federation of Independent Business, Louisiana’s leading small-business association, today announced the unanimous election of Louisiana small-business leader Pat Felder as chair of the organization's Leadership Council.
The NFIB/Louisiana Leadership Council provides direct small-business input and counsel into the organization’s legislative and public relations agenda. Council members, through their voluntary participation, are committed to promoting and implementing the principles of free enterprise and small business.
NFIB/Louisiana’s Leadership Council is made up of small-business owners throughout the state from varying industries. The members meet each year to discuss the most important issues facing small-business owners and recommend ways of solving those problems in the Legislature.
“Pat is committed to the issues affecting small businesses in Louisiana,” said Renee Baker, NFIB/Louisiana’s state director. “She has a proven track record serving as an advocate for small businesses and will be a great asset to the Leadership Council as chair.”
Felder, who has been an NFIB member since 2007, co-owns Felder’s Collision Parts in Baton Rouge with husband Wayne. The company was founded in 1987 and provides after-market collision parts, as well as remanufactured bumpers. “I am honored to have been selected chair of the Leadership Council,” said Felder. “I have been an active member of the small-business community for many years, and I look forward to this leadership role.”
Felder replaces outgoing chair Bob Breaux of Total Computer Systems in Baton Rouge and will serve a two-year term. Dan Flavin of Flavin Realty in Lake Charles will continue serving as chair of the state political action committee.
New members joining the council this year are Gary Anderson of Go Kahuna in Baton Rouge, Lynda Beasley of the Real Estate Book in Shreveport, and Denise Foster of Creative Concepts in Lake Charles.
