Louisiana Spring: Fashion In The New Orleans Air

Spring is almost in the air and there will be a spring to the New Orleans area fashion season this week.

Bayoubuzz is the media-sponsor for an event called New Orleans Fashion Week and wanted to know from its sponsor, Conrad Lamour, what’s “hot”, or shall we say “cool” this spring in the world of Fashions.

Lamour will be in New Orleans on March 7^th this weekend for its first casting call for models and then host a bash on March 8^th, but first, the fashions of the spring.

Bayoubuzz: Why is spring fashion so special compared to other seasons?
Lamour: Spring fashion is always special because it represents rebirth. It's the only season that represents new life, new colors, and usually sets the tone for the rest of the seasons.

Bayoubuzz: What is really “hot” this spring in terms of fashion?
Lamour: What is hot this spring is exotic patterns, prints and colors. Similar to what you see at Mardegra, in a more visually organized fashion. Fashion this spring is all about having fun and being comfortable.

Bayoubuzz: What about men, is there anything they are doing about spring fashion that is different than last year?Lamour: The men's fashion this spring has a new twist. Men will take the traditional navy,black,gray and khaki suit and jazz it up. Adding a bold print shirt and a matching pocket handkerchief. On the more casual side, traditional linen in bold colors,will complement the com back of the pocket tee shirt and button in summer colors. Brown is the new black for men this summer.

Bayoubuzz: Tell us about Fashion week? What are you looking for in terms of models?
Lamour: New Orleans fashion week is a series of fashion events showcasing designer collections and models. Show casing local and international designers will jump start the fashion market in New Orleans. In terms of models we are looking for the diamond in the rough, that undiscovered super model. The model that has the look, who we can show case and make the face of New Orleans Fashion Week.

Bayoubuzz: What is the calendar of events? What should they wear?
Lamour: On March7tn, NOFW is holding it's first casting call in New Orleans. This will take place at the Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans.701 Convention Center Blvd
New Orleans, LA 70130. The model call will be from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Bayoubuzz: I understand that there will be a fashion VIP party the next day. Could you tell us more about this? Lamour: On March 8^th, during the evening, we will be hosting “New Orleans En Vogue” which is New Orleans Fashion Week's first pre-event. It will be a fashion cocktail party at the W hotel's Zoe lounge and Whiskey Blue.
