Here are some of the many topics we will discuss:
The JeffersonsNeed we say more?
Jindal for VP! The Governor keeps denying the rumor, but he keeps showing up on national talk shows. He also is spending a lot of time with a certain Arizona Senator. What would this mean for LA? If chosen and elected, say hello to Gov. Mitch Landrieu.
Obama has Big Problems. How does he use the “endorsement” of super-delegate Ray Nagin? As another preacher goes crazy from the pulpit, Obama quits his church and tries to change the subject. Can he finally finish off Hillary? Will he ask her to join the ticket? Would that be a bad political marriage or what? And what would he do with Bill?
Nagin Offers Homeless Solution. Nagin believes that one-way bus tickets out of town will work. Should Nagin be on that bus instead?
Dude Looks like a Lady! A man in a wig, high heels and a dress robbed Burger King Uptown. How do our undermanned police handle this threat? While crime is occurring underneath broken crime cameras, Nagin promises to fix them. Do you believe him?
Legislators want 300% pay raise! A proposal would make our legislators the 9th highest paid in the nation. Do they deserve it? Do we have the 9th best schools, roads, workforce or environment? Since we’re last on most lists, where should their pay rank?
Hurricane season is here and only 20% of those in need have signed up for the New Orleans evacuation plan. This is no surprise! After seeing what happened during Katrina, would you trust the Nagin administration to evacuate you before the next big one?
With so much serious discussion, it is helpful once a month to be able to poke fun at some of the hilarious, insane and unpredictable events which occur in this state.
On Thursday night Jim Bernazzani will tell us why he has decided to stay in New Orleans; Dr. Ed Blakely will give us hope about the New Orleans recovery; Lindsey Crow will entertain us with her comic observations; Sandra “18-Wheeler” Hester returns to our stage with her forceful and comic comments on New Orleans; Mikko will amuse us with his zany, one of a kind observations; Helena Moreno will enlighten us on her future political plans; and Steve Sabludowsky will share his birds eye view as Bayoubuzz publisher who reports on all of the hot topics we discuss.
In between, we’ll address the controversies and the crazy antics of our local leaders and have plenty of fun in the process.
Since 2002, along with Steve Sabludowsky of Bayoubuzz.com and Jeff Crouere have been a part of one political tradition that has grown into quite a success story. Of course I’m referring to Politics with a Punch, which is held monthly on stage before a live audience. It is our own local version of “Politically Incorrect.” It is a fast-paced, free-wheeling, no-holds barred discussion of what is happening in our city, state and nation. It is truly “funnier than laughing gas”!
In our six years of existence, we have featured some of the top political, business, comedic, media and entertainment talent in Louisiana. Jeff Croure hosts Politics with a Punch, an event which has attracted sell-out crowds for the past two years.Organizers expect exceptional performance on Thursday night.
The event features a respected crime fighter working to reform New Orleans; the man at the center of the New Orleans recovery; a comedian who is enjoyed by audiences across the area; a unique activist who combines both passion and comedy in her repertoire; a talented stage performer and comic genius; a popular news anchor with a large following in the city; and the visionary who co-founded this show and provides reasoned commentary through his popular website. It doesn’t get much better than this panel!
Tickets are only $15.00 per person/$25.00 per couple.
To better understand the uniqueness of our show and some of the craziness that is regularly displayed on stage, be sure to read a recent column by Chris Rose, one of our all-time favorite panelists.
