Now that the Louisiana legislative session is over (except for the possibilities of a veto override session), let us commend our legislators for the hard work even if we do not agree with everything they have done over the past few months and even if they do receive greater privileges than the average person.

Whether we want to admit it or not, our legislators work hard and long hours  and most do have our interests (and their self-preservation at heart.  Because of our political system, the most beloved legislator (from one group) can also be the most berated( from another group).

Regardless, Bayoubuzz does appreciate the efforts of the members of the House and the Senate for taking part of this political process.  On the eve of the birthday of our nation, Bayoubuzz is instituting the Legislator of the Year" recognition.  In doing so, we are asking you to send to us the name of the person you feel should be deserving of this award and provide to us the reason.  We are opening this nomination today and will close the nomination process on July 20 at 12 pm cst.  After receiving the nominations and the reasons for the nominations, the voting will occur from July 22 at 6am cst until August 6 12pm cst.  You can only vote once.  The honoree will be interviewed by Bayoubuzz and will receive a medal of achievement.

So, please send in your names of your nominees.  Bayoubuzzz is statewide but we encourage you to forward this page to others so that more people throughout the state can take part of the process.
