BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced appointments to the State Parks and Recreation Commission.
The purpose of the commission is to advise the office of state parks, the secretary and the assistant secretary of the department in the promotion of its goals and objectives in matters relating to parks, recreation facilities, programs, and its administration.
According to statute, the commission is composed of members appointed by the governor which are subject to senate confirmation. The board is also includes the governor or their designee and the Secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries or their designee. Four members are selected at-large. Willie Young was nominated by the Louisiana Police Jury Association and Gerard Moreau was nominated by the Louisiana Municipal Association.

Appointments to the State Parks and Recreation Commission:
Mike Bayham, of Chalmette, is a freelance journalist and is also a former St. Bernard Parish Councilman.
David J. Camardelle, of Grand Isle, is mayor of Grand Isle and is also a member of the Grand Isle Independent Levee Board.
Eustis J. Guillemet, of New Orleans, is retired from the travel industry. Guillemet is a former member of the U.S. Army and attended XavierUniversity.
Martin Guillory, of Branch, is currently a board member of the Community Outreach Corporation for the homeless in Acadia Parish and is also a member of the Rayne and Crowley Chamber of Commerce.
Gerard Moreau, Jr., of Bunkie, is a vice president at-large for the Louisiana Municipal Association Executive Board and is also currently the mayor of Bunkie.
Willie Young, Sr., of Homer, serves as a member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association and is also a Claiborne Parish police juror.
