With Edouard brushing Cameron Parish, the news turns to other hurricane matters such as officials possibly changing the company that is managing the properties for the Louisiana Road Home program.

Expect some legal challenges and let us not forget government challenges visiting a Louisiana police chief’s home.

Jena Six is back in the news as there is a new judge on the case.  The Jena Six case rocked Louisiana and the world last year and caused tremendous racial tensions.  But, the racial tensions are not over in the state as the ACLU is claiming that racial profiling is continuing.

Louisiana has good news that unemployment rate in Central Louisiana is below US averages.

Also, is Paris Hilton hitting below the belt with an “ad” of her own in a “war that might be developing with John McCain?

Nationally, one of the major international stories that is hitting the web and airwaves is that Texas has executed a Mexican-born killer.

Well... here's the link again. A compilation of murder statistics show men proportionately commit more homicide than women; the young proportionately commit more homicide than the old, blacks proportionately commit more homicide than whites. So yes more young male blacks will be arrested for homicide and be in prison or on death row. That's not profiling... it is simply "those who commit the crime, do the time." The problem is the heartlessness of those who commit violent crime, not with those who are charged with bringing them to justice (many of these law officers are black themselves, they are often accused of “self hate” – what BS!). http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/ageracesex.htm

The question about the execution is whether the individual executed was proven guilty and given every right under the laws of the State of Texas and the United States. His heritage plays no part in the action or it should not have. The ACLU calls arrests in various areas of this state racial profiling. Compare the arrests to the actual convictions and if there is a similar pattern, then justice has been accomplished according to the laws of this state. It is time to stop pandering to the issue of race and look to the facts of commission of crimes and conviction for crimes. Parish Hilton is a spoiled brat with little or no taste and moral standards. It is time to stop giving so much publicity to people of this nature. Show the young women who are college educated and readily employed in business, medicine and other viable fields that are productive to the best interests of society. Three years later it is clear that the Road Home program must be revamped in the interests of the general public. The use of the Jena Six as an example of racial bias, etc. by certain leaders of the organization of Americans of African Ancestsry was and continues to be deplorable. The judge who was recused for a wrong which he committed and with that we will agree. However, his statement does not detract from the acts for which these young men stand accused. This should have been settled by now and the community of Jena united for a better future.
