On Wednesday, the Sazerac became the official cocktail of the City of New Orleans. The legislation allowing that designation was SB 6 authored by Edwin Murray.Governor Jindal allowed the legislation to become law without vetoing the bill or signing into law.The legislation was somewhat controversial during the regular session since it represented a bill that legislators would debate which would not impact the government or the people.
I was only joking about the Sazerac - never had one actually. Also I find much of central and northern Louisiana to be very pleasing to the eye. Natchitoches in particular is a location I would not mind retiring in to spend my last years (except no Zydeco dancing unless one travels 2 to 3 hours south - not good). I agree that "empowerment of the City's Inspector General" is EXACTLY what this city needs. However, I believe it would have been wiser to find a black man or woman to fill this role - I fear what will happen every time Mr. Cerasoli uncovers corruption the "race card" will be played out - at the very least delaying progress on cleaning up corruption in this city. Excuse us, dears, for being a bit off color this a.m. but what a C***K of E*******T!!!!! This is not what is necessary for this city. Read the paper and see Home's collapse comes as harsh blow to couple - this is reality along with numerous other stories about the homeless, etc. and the legislators are worried about the city's official drink. Where is the true empowerment of the City's Inspector General, the vast amount of crime, the continued decay of education, the homeless, etc. Yes, let's worry about those major issues such as the official drink but let's not worry about the needs of ordinary citizens. To heck with the sazerac - let's pay attention to the blood and guts of the citizens of this city, the majority of whom have never had one of those fancy cocktails and frankly do not give a damn!!!!!
