According to United States Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator David Paulison and Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Richard Skinner were questioned at a Senate hearing on FEMA’s progress since the 2005 hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Landrieu claims that the IG today released a report that says the agency has not made substantial progress since Katrina in any one of nine areas studied, including logistics, evacuations and housing. Administrator Paulison and IG Skinner testimony was before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, on which Sen. Landrieu chairs the Disaster Recovery Subcommittee.
Don't confuse responsible self-reliant people with Mary's constituents. These folks are entitled to be provided everything they should ever need, in every way. If a man likes sex but has no intention of being a father and caring for his children, you should be happy to have less money for your family by being taxed to provide for as many children as he desires to produce, with as many different women as he so wills it to be. If someone doesn’t have insurance, you should be happy to have your insurance rates go up and also to pay more taxes – less for your family again, which shouldn’t be a problem – to rebuild these folks homes. Yes, happy even to rebuild them in our below sea level city that most certainly will flood yet again one day. You should be happy with all this and if you are please share “why you are” with me so I can be happy about it as well. p.s. If you’re not happy with doing with less for those who refuse to do right for themselves, you are suffering from something called “excessive greed” – a bad thing, so I am told. I am sorry that more have not made comments on this article. IMHO Mary Landrieu will still be saying that no progress has been made in New Orleans the next time she runs for office if she gets re-elected. In her eyes, with the billions that have been given to Louisiana and even though much of it was wasted on fraud, there will never be enough for her. Meanwhile many people have lost everything elsewhere from floods, tornadoes and all manner of natural disasters. They get basic help and immediate help from FEMA which is supposed to be what FEMA does. Then they have their insurance or they don't but that's it. Written by Sharon
