Has anyone forgotten Derrick Todd Lee, the 2004 convicted Baton Rouge (renamed “Southeast Louisiana”) Serial Killer?Lynne Marino, the outspoken mother of Baton Rouge slain victim Pam Kenamore, certainly has not.She continues the fight for her daughter’s justice while Lee remains on death row at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola.DNA evidence linked him to the murders of seven women from 1998 to 2003.
Lee was convicted of 1st degree murder by a unanimous East Baton Rouge Parish Jury and sentenced to death in October of 2004, for the brutal 2002 rape, stabbing and murder of 22- year old Charlotte Murray Pace, then, a recent L.S.U. MBA graduate.
The Louisiana State Supreme Court affirmed the East Baton Rouge
Conviction and death sentence in January of 2008, after Lee’s defense team appealed the verdict in 2004, arguing their client was mentally retarded.A 2002 Supreme Court decision forbids the execution of the mentally retarded.
Lynne Marino was invited by State Senator Yvonne Dorsey to
address an open session ofthe Louisiana State Senate last week, regarding Ms. Marino’s plea to expedite the appeals process ofDNA-evidenced 1st degree murder convictions. “Our system of justice, which allows as much as 20-25 years of appeals for the death penalty, is not only fiscally insane, it is morally insane,” said Marino.“I appeal to you today, to consider legislation that would allow appeals to the state and federal supreme courts in a limited time period…perhaps…five years. When these appeals are heard and denied, set the execution date….We put our beloved pets to death by lethal injection when they are ill,” accordingly, “it is humane to execute our 1st degree murderers by lethal objection.”
She further reminded the senate of the accuracy of DNA evidence, and the likelihood that Lee killed other highly intelligent women, (whose crimes are yet unsolved), in addition to the seven victims successfully linked to him with DNA.
Pamela Puglia Kenamore was a 44-year old successful business woman, antique dealer, wife and mother when brutally slain on July 12, 2002. Her mother, Lynne Marino, was honored by the “Alliance for Good Government” 2004 in Louisiana, and the “FBI Citizens’ Academy Alumni Association, Louisiana Chapter” in 2006, at their annual banquets, as a state “Outstanding Civic Activist.”She has been credited for her valiant efforts to keep her daughter’s memory alive, well known for organizing monthly rallies on the steps of the Baton Rouge Louisiana State Capital until the serial perpetrator was found.
Marino was often times a constant thorn to then Governor Mike Foster and his appointed task force controversially attempting to solve the serial crimes. The “Baton Rouge Serial Killer” was eventually subpoenaed for DNA sampling in May of 2003, independent of the “Multi Agency Homicide Task Force,” by request of East Feliciana Sheriff’s detective Joel Odom, the Zachary Police Department and Zachary Police Chief Joey Watson, and Investigator Danny Mixon from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.Derrick Todd Lee is still awaiting execution, now five years since his conviction.

SOB's who prey upon women and others should be executed quickly afer ONE appeal on their sentence. Speaking of cost savings, those with life sentences can spend their time in a Turkish prison. Turkey has offered to house our "lifers" for a fraction of the cost we pay. Do that, legalize drugs and the cost we pay for prisons (as well as street crime - particularly homicides) will plummet. Think of the cost savings the state will now experience as a result of not having to house/feed/and clothe him anymore..... Probably equivellant to 2 or 3 annual paychecks for teachers........ Written by

No- we'll never forget Derrick Todd Lee (another 3-name murderer)... When former LA.Commissioner, Jerry Fowler, passed away a few months ago- all those sad memories came back. Fowler's wife , MaryAnne Fowler was mistaken to be "Lynne Marino" by the serial killer in a convenient store parking lot .... The murderer, Lee, is seen on video surveillance tape.....(Ms. Marino and Ms.Fowler have an amazing resemblance; they looked like "twin sisters"). Lynne Marino was fearless, even with the killer on "her" trail. Why give Lee a lethal injection-- so he can go peacefully in a drug induced sleep?... Fry him. Written by KjunLady
