Louisiana Politics: 6th Anniversary of Political Comedy In New Orleans

This Thursday will be the sixth anniversary of Politics With a Punch or the live version of “Really New Orleans”.

“Punch” is the brainchild of attorney and Bayoubuzz publisher,  Stephen Sabludowsky and is emceed to perfection by Jeff Crouere.  Both Crouere and Sabludowsky produce the event and this month’s edition promises to be “funnier than laughing gas” as have been the past fun-filled irreverent affairs since its inception.

As described by Chris Rose in Sunday’s Times Picayune, “Its formula is fail-safe: "Politics With a Punch" assembles random casts of local politicos, spin doctors, journalists, actors, comedians and assorted "New Orleans characters" (think Ronnie Virgets, Manny Chevrolet or the Canal Street Madam) onstage to discuss the burning issues of the day.”

“Yes, F-bombs. At a typical "Politics With a Punch" show, you will witness local TV personalities and public servants use language and vocabulary that you won't hear on the 6 o'clock news. And that's the point. The format claims to be "off-the-record" and the audience demands candor and what you get is the closest thing to the truth that anyone around here will tell.”

“And it turns out the truth is not only dangerous; it's funny. Damn funny!”

This Thursday’s production will be a killer.  The cast will be

TV anchorman (Eric Paulsen),

City councilman (Arnie Fielkow),

Always funny and provocative, Ronnie Virgets

Louisiana House Speaker, Jim Tucker

Comedian, Bill Dykes.

Margarita Bergen, New Orleans Diva and Columnist for Bayoubuzz.com

You better reserve your spot for this special 6th year anniversary, for as usual, a sellout is certainly expected.  The show begins at 8, but happy hour starts at 6 p.m. at The Cricket (the former Eiffel Tower restaurant), 2040 St. Charles Ave.
Cost: $15 per person, $25 per couple, and $10 for students

Contact Stephen Sabludowsky at steve@bayoubuzz.com or jeff@ringsidepolitics.com to reserve your seats.
