I am going to be exhausted.
Today, I got the opportunity to preview the fabulous exhibition of the New Orleans Museum of Art's restrospective of the famous Louisiana Cajun artist George Rodrigue who will be opening "Rodrigue's Louisiana:Cajuns Blues Dogs and Beyond Katrina," a 40-year restrospective tomorrow at the New Orleans Museum of Art. The exhibit will open March 1st and will continue until June 8.
"George Rodrigue is a Louisiana treasure"said NOMA Director John Bullard, " and the museum is proud to showcase the past 40 years of his work. From the Blue Dog and Louisiana landscapes to hurricanes and scenes of Cajun life, George Rodrigue's art epitomizes a culture that is distinctly Louisiana."

By the way, if you are an opera lover like I am, be sure you make your reservations now for New Orleans Opera Association’s presentation of Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto (sung in Italian with English supertitles) to be performed on March 14 and 15 at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Tulane University's McAlister Auditorium.
This next-to-last performance of the Opera’s 2007-08 season stars the incomparable bass-baritone Mark Rucker, reprising the signature role of the deformed court jester he has sung all over the world, including a New Orleans Opera performance in 1997. He was the first African American male to sing a lead role in the more than 200-year history of opera in New Orleans (Macbeth, 1994) and his return here is eagerly awaited by many. Co-starring with him are Lisette Oropesa and Nicole Heaston alternating as Gilda and Bruce Sledge and Mark T. Panuccio alternating as the Duke of Mantua. Maestro Robert Lyall conducts the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.

In an effort to embrace the growing melting pot that defines New Orleans, LatiNola Votes! launched an eight-month voter registration campaign targeting Hispanic voters at 4407 South Carrollton Avenue. Spearheaded by Puentes New Orleans, Inc. (PNOInc), LatiNola Votes! is a public-private, nonpartisan voter registration campaign aimed at registering more than 2,000 new Hispanic citizens before the upcoming presidential election.
