New Orleans, Louisiana--The New Orleans City Attorney for Mayor Ray Nagin has issued an official statement  regarding the “Donner Drive Incident”

“The City of New Orleans and the New Orleans Police Department are currently investigating the fatal incident that occurred following severe flooding on Saturday, December 12, 2009.

Reflective barrels have been placed at the location of the incident.
The Department of Public Works records show that "Dead End" roadway signage was installed at the corner of Donner Drive and Marr Avenue in 1985 with speed limit signage installed in 2007.

In addition to the "Dead End" signage already at the location, the Department of Public Works will install a permanent barrier marking the location as a "Dead End" road, and additional roadway signage indicating a "Dead End Road Approaching".

The incident is currently under investigation and updates will be released accordingly.

Thought the DA was investigating a manslaughter charge against the City of New Orleans -- perhaps charging Nagin with negligent homicide. Oh... it's the City Attorney's Office. Never mind. They can't competently and successfully investigate the cause of an ant bite.

How about some speed bumps and then a dead end sign AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ENTRANCE TO THE DEAD END instead of 3 feet away from where the pavement ends and the ditch begins... and how about some speed bumps and then a dead end sign AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ENTRANCE TO DEAD ENDS on all streets? What a bunch of dumazzes... Oh well, the folks that are on the city planning commision or the heads of the Department of Public Works are probably LSU or Tulane graduates so what's the difference anyways? Stupid is as stupid duz I suppose....
