On Friday night, the New Orleans Hornets soundly beat the Los Angeles Lakers 108-98.The victory was the second in a row for the Hornets who earlier this week beat the San Antonio Spurs 100-75.
The victory came one day after owner George Shinn at a fundraiser predicted that the Hornets would defeat the Lakers.
The Hornets victory meant that the New Orleans team which moved back into the City this year after Katrina is one-half game from the top position in the Western Conference.Diminutive Chris Paul led the Hornets with 27 points and 17 assists.
