Even New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has questioned the protesters who are calling for a halt in the planned demolition of public housing which some believe have been a blight on the New Orleans landscape

However, many of the residents and others who believe that the demolition is based upon racism denying citizens the right of return think otherwise.

This week, protesters were able to top some of the demolition by making threats and even standing in the way of bulldozers.

Many of those buildings are decades old and have been laden with crime.  The mixed-use, mixed income housing structures is a new concept has been endorsed by HUD.

The demolition of the public housing has been on a faster track since Katrina and Rita.  .

On Saturday, he questioned whether the protesters have lived in public housing.  In place of the dilapidated housing is a plan for mixed-use housing to replace the 4500 project units.

Well we see that Ray does have some steel. It is about time that it is shown. We will post here as we have other places the following: It is time to put the metal to the pedal and get some action. Of course there will be another attempt to use racism as a ploy to the question of proper housing for those truly entitled to it. The housing complexes have been in a bad state of repair for some time and have served as a breeding area for crime, etc. Now let's get this over with and let's get people into proper housing that are deserving of it. Let's not make this an area for generations of poverty, crime, and ignorance. Let's create a future for deserving people and the only way we can do it is with proper housing, education, and opportunities. Arrest those protestors from out of town. The council better act as a unit for a better New Orleans. Let's see what members have the steel fists and others with steel below to do the right thing for the deserving people of New Orleans.
