It is totally understandable that New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was too busy today to appear before the City Council. He does not have time to answer silly questions, he is working. There is no doubt that he is a selfless public servant, toiling away for the citizens of the CrescentCity. While the City Council is wasting time in a meeting, Mayor Nagin is being productive.
Let’s look at his jammed packed schedule:
8:00 a.m.—breakfast with his brother-in-law Cedric Smith. They need to review “contracts.”
9:00 a.m.—meeting with Recovery Director Ed Blakely to inspect all the promised “cranes in the sky.”
10:00 a.m.—meeting with his former Technology Director Anthony Jones to check out all of those working crime cameras and meet with the 311 phone operators.
11:00 a.m.—time for a “one on one” with WWL-TV Reporter Lee Zurik in the station’s parking lot.
Noon—lunch with his wife at Commander’s Palace, compliments of the taxpayers because of course they will be discussing “city business.”
1 p.m.—visit with State Senator Derrick Shepherd at his mom’s house of detention. He is helping the Senator with his undercover investigation of unlicensed lap dancers.
2 p.m.—shopping with Congressman Bill Jefferson at A-1 Appliances. They will be checking out the new model of freezers.
3 p.m.—visit to Godiva Store.. He’s needs his daily chocolate fix.
4 p.m.—time to “cold cock” somebody, anybody.
5 p.m.—time to work out at the gym. He needs to keep his svelte figure!
6 p.m.—dinner with Reverend Jesse Jackson at Morton’s Steakhouse on taxpayer’s credit card, discussing “city business”
7 p.m.—holding annual stockholders meeting of Stone Age Granite Company at Home Depot
8 p.m.—play time with Chief Riley. Their favorite game is “cops and robbers” where they point guns at each other and yuck it up.
9 p.m.—typing up the real NOAH list. Not the list he gave to Lee Zurik, or the list he gave to the newspaper or the one he gave to investigators, but the real list!
10 p.m.—board plane for his daily flight to his real home in Dallas
As everyone can plainly see, the man has a lot to do! The city council needs to cut him some slack. He doesn’t have time to answer questions, he is too busy working.

"Mayor Ray Nagin was too busy today to appear before the City Council.".............No- he made it..................I watched the whole council meeting on WDSU.... Almost every council member grilled him.... Nagin was angry, and arrogant.... kept being evasive................The end result: The Mayor agreed, finally, to a third-party investigation(the FBI and HUD)on the NOA Stink... They want to know why so much money was paid out to contractors for services not rendered...AND- Nagin agreed to prosecute any guilty parties- even if they were members of his own administration. Oh, dears, Mayor Worm did appear and chastised the City Council Members for their interference with his schedule. Might we suggest that he give an accurate list of his activities scheduled today and for the entire week? My goodness, our doctor made arrangements to see us today in spite of his crowded schedule. Mayor Worm needs to address these evident issues involving NOAH and his failure to do so and to indicate that this organization existed prior to his election does not eradicate the fact of his responsibility to the citizens of this state. In addition, we will dare him to give a complete ancestrial breakdown of all employees on the city's payroll and a complete list of all banks in which city funds are deposited.
