C-SPAN, earlier this week, through co-presidents Rob Kennedy and Susan Swain announced three new appointments to the cable network's editorial/technical senior management team, with an eye toward the network's continuing digital conversion and ongoing enhancements to C-SPAN's public affairs product. One of those individuals selected is Adam Sharp who has been involved in national and Louisiana issues.
According to C-Span, Adam Sharp has been named to the newly-created position of Executive Producer, Digital Services, with responsibility for editorial development and oversight of the network's C-SPAN.org home page and editorial enhancements to daily public affairs coverage on C-SPAN 3. Adam brings to this new role experience on Capitol Hill, in journalism, and in digital technology conversion. He joins C-SPAN on February 2nd from the office of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) where he has served as Deputy Chief of Staff. From 1992 until 2001, Adam worked for NBC News in a variety of positions, most recently manager of eBusiness and digitization.
Sharp recently told Bayoubuzz, “I've always said my career has been defined by my three passions: television journalism, politics and technology, and this new job gives me a tremendous change to really tap into all three. I'm excited to bring some new ideas to the table, and to return to the editorial side of it, working on C-SPAN.org and some great enhancements to C-SPAN 3. C-SPAN serves such a vital role, opening the doors to Washington to the American people, and I'm looking forward to helping open more of those doors, and open them wider”.
