"I am alarmed you can compare the Black Panther Party to the KKK.”
I received this email comment to a column written Jeff Crouere yesterday.In the email, I also found a link to the Black Panther Party’s web site.The email writer explained she could not find a centralized KKK web site.
Crouere said in his column, “Obviously all of the publicity about the KKK is just the wrong type of news for Louisiana and does nothing to improve our image nationwide. It will not get any better in the weeks ahead because today it was announced that the black radical group, the New Black Panther Party, are planning a protest march for Friday December 5 in Bogalusa. The rally is in response to the KKK incident and the media attention surrounding the white supremacist group. The rally might trigger a counter rally from KKK members, so there could be chants of “white power” and “black power.” There is also the threat of violence that will be hanging over the event.”
Since I do not know the writer of the email, I do not know if that person is white or black or if email writer felt the New Black Panther Party was more pathetic and greater haters than the KKK, or vice versa.
I have had a chance to read the “tenets” of the New Black Panther Party and I certainly have read the many KKK websites.
While Jeff Crouere wrote the original column, I received a copy of it, I feel compelled to respond to the email writer and to the public.After review of the New Black Panther Party, I am sorry that we still live in a society that both organizations are attempting to take center stage in Louisiana.It is not that one organization is worse than the other;In my view, both are venomous, race-oriented and divisive.
While the KKK was founded upon white supremacy, the New Black Panther Party appears to be predicated upon hate and disdain for whites.
It would be a shame if a small town of Bogalusa Louisiana became the next Jena pitting some whites against some blacks and grabbing the headlines and attentions of the nation.
Whether one voted for Barack Obama or not, his victory hailed in a new age for this nation and turned a new page for the world.
As a close relative said to me, he voted for Obama since he wanted to send a signal to the world that blacks can step upon the highest mountain top and achieve.While I believe that is the wrong reason to vote for a President, I understand my relative’s intentions.
We would be foolish to think that we can reverse centuries of racism in sixty years, but, we have seen a miracle before our eyes in the past decades.
Blacks are no longer helpless and forbidden from the mainstream of society.Government did step in and while it helped destroyed the fabric of independence of the black family, it also gave many blacks upward mobility.
The days of the “old Black Panther” movement are over.Whites joined blacks in rejoicing the revolution on Election Day.Their tears of joy and feelings of pride were not based in part in seeing a black President but were, in part, predicated upon realizing that America has grown up to be a more tolerating society and that political, legal and social shackles were being torn .
The hatred that has existed for centuries will not disappear with a rally in Bogalusa, or with an Obama victory.As we approach Thanksgiving, as Americans we can all give thanks that so many of us have overcome our own prejudices, our misconceptions and our deep-rooted animus.
There will be pockets of hate as the economy worsens.Obama will be making some very hard choices in the area of civil rights that will anger some and please others.
But, make no mistake about the current realities.America is a more beautiful nation than it was when blacks were denied entry into basic public facilities and when they were treated as second-class citizens.Soon, the most powerful man in the world will be both part African American and part white.I believe that it is beyond time for us to start looking at the elements that unite us rather than those that divide us as a great people and as a strong nation.We all might not reach that proverbial “mountain top”, but, hopefully that precipice will be lit by a shiny city shedding light upon the goodness of the people underneath rather than emanating darkness upon the bad in all of us.
We can all help climb that apex and work together as fellow humans with dignity and with deep desire that all of humanity will drink from the fountain of full opportunities for success
We share profound objectives that can be made more evident as equality begins to reign in America and throughout the world.Let those truths flow in our own hearts. Certainly, let them stream through the souls of another Louisiana town slowly making its name on the world’s map and on the consciousness of its own good people falling victim by some who want to shred our love and appreciations for one another.
And now if we could only get rid of some of those 'public servants' that are card carrying black panther advocates, things might even start to get normal..... I know of one chief of police that fits the bill... Written by

I checked the New Black Panther site out - how truly pathetic. "We want" this or that. "We deserve" this or that. BULLSHIT! Nobody deserves anything. Earn it by making the most of who you can be. You must be looking at this situation through your own bias. What on the New Black Panther Party website would compare them even remotely to the KKK. The KKK is a organization with a long and continued history of intimidation by force, including hanging, burning, and bombing homes and churches with young girls attending Sunday school. Please point out to me what you saw on that website to even put these to organizations in the same sentence. I think as a journalist, if you consider yourself one, you should stick to the facts rather then your own perceptions. You should apologize for your misguided effort.

Look at my fellow conservatives! There they go, glumly shuffling along, depressed by the election aftermath. Not me. I'm virtually euphoric. Don't get me wrong. I'm not thrilled with America 's flirtation with neo socialism. But there's a massive silver lining in those magical clouds that lofted Barak Obama to the Presidency. For today, without a shred of intellectually legitimate opposition, I can loudly proclaim to America : The Era of White Guilt is over.
This seemingly impossible event occurred because the vast majority of white Americans didn't give a fluff about skin color, and enthusiastically pulled the voting lever for a black man. Not just any black man. A very liberal black man who spent his early career race-hustling banks, praying in a racist church for 20 years, and actively worked with America-hating domestic terrorists. Wow! Some resume! Yet they made Barak Obama their leader. Therefore, as of Nov 4th, 2008, white guilt is dead.
For over a century, the millstone of white guilt hung around our necks, retribution for slave-owning predecessors. In the 60s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution. But if a black man can become President, exactly what significant barrier is left? The election of Barak Obama absolutely destroys the entire validation of liberal white guilt. The dragon is hereby slain.
So today, I'm feeling a little "uppity," if you will. From this day forward, my tolerance level for having my skin color hustled is now exactly ZERO. And it's time to clean house. No more Reverend Wright's "God Damn America ," Al Sharpton's Church of Perpetual Victimization , or Jesse Jackson's rainbow racism. Cornell West? You're a fraud. Go home. All those "black studies" programs that taught kids to hate whitey? You must now thank Whitey. And I want that on the final.
Congressional Black Caucus? Irrelevant. Maxine Waters? Shut up. ACORN? Outlawed. Black Panthers? Go home and pet your kitty. Black separatists? Find another nation that offers better dreams. Go ahead. I'm waiting.

That's the sound of my foot kicking the door shut on the era of white guilt. The rites have been muttered, the carcass lowered, dirt shoveled, and tombstone erected. White guilt is dead and buried.
However, despite my glee, there's apparently one small, rabid bastion of American racism remaining. Black Americans voted 96% for Barak Obama. Hmmm. In a color-blind world, shouldn't that be 50-50? Tonight, every black person should ask forgiveness for their apparent racism and prejudice towards white people. Maybe it's time to start spreading the guilt around.

I looked at the website Simone... Not that hard to follow at all, actually seems to show a lot of integrity, common sense, and noteworthy accomplishments... I have to agree with STRONGCONCRETE a.k.a. William Smith, there does appear to be some questionable forces trying to detract from his efforts and distract the publics eye when his website is brought up. I have no problem following the posts from WrittenBy. The "kick 'em when they're up - - - Kick 'em when they're down" portion is a song from Don Henley, entitled "Dirty Laundry" Very popular song, readily recognizable by anyone who has ever heard a radio, no matter what their taste in music is... But then again, 'Cut it Out' may really be someone named Landry and for some reason thought he or she was being ridiculed... And then again, perhaps WrittenBy has been making some political people uncomfortable, WrittenBy does seem to post some rather controversial essays that make a good bit of sense for the most part when one considers the various paradoxes that are presented for contemplation while taking the information in as it may relate to certain subjects or situations. Just a thought. In fact, those "kick 'em when they're up - - - Kick 'em when they're down" lyrics actually remind me a lot of some methods of "good old down home Louisiana hospitality and politics"..
