Yesterday, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Robert Leblanc to the Board of Commissioners of theLafourche Basin Levee District.
The Board of Commissioners of the Lafourche Basin Levee District is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the levees and maintaining the levee drainage system within Lafourche Basin Levee District.
According to statute, the board is comprised of nine gubernatorial appointments which are subject to senate confirmation. Robert Leblanc will serve as the member appointed from Assumption Parish, as required by statute. Leblanc was selected by the Assumption Parish legislative delegation.
Robert H. Leblanc, of Labadieville, is a registered nurse at D’ville House Nursing Home and has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from NichollsStateUniversity. Leblanc is also a community leader focused on continued levee protection for the region.
