Louisiana Governor To Appear On Jay Leno, Present At National Press Club

BATON ROUGE – Immediately after last year’s elections, Bobby Jindal said that he would not mind if his administration was known for being the most boring, a reference to some of the more colorful Governors in Louisiana history.  With the announcement today, that comment is almost laughable.

Governor Bobby Jindal has announced that he will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Monday, April 28th, and later that week he will speak to the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Governor Jindal will be a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, April 28th. The Governor will discuss the many reforms underway in the state and highlight the fact the Louisiana is open for business and working to become the best place in the world to raise a family, get a high-paying job, and pursue a great career.  Very few guests are known to leave the stage without adding a little color and humor to the comedy program.

Then, later next week, on Friday, May 2nd, the Governor will speak to the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Governor Jindal will discuss his reform agenda, which has already produced real results in overhauling the state’s ethics laws and eliminating anti-business taxes. In two special sessions of the legislature, the state has already taken bold steps forward toward a new Louisiana and the Governor is working to ensure the entire nation knows about the dramatic reforms underway in the state.

Both appearances could be considered tremendous opportunities for Louisiana.  Either appearance could raise the question of whether Jindal is testing the waters for more national recognition, such as Vice Presidency.  The Governor has said that he loves his job when asked if he would take the VP nomination if asked.

I can only surmise that the two gentlemen who responded to my BuzzBack are either too far gone (cynically speaking) to believe that ANYONE has anything other than ulterior motives or too far gone from smoking doobies. I'm done.

Ahhhhh, but to error on the side of caution is a good thing....... Let's see, couldn't get elected as Mayor of New Orleans, so instead he could possibly be 'installed' as the Governor of Louisiana without a vote?!?!?!?!?!!???????? The Nixon/Agnew/Ford thing was sort of weird, but this is really weird................. Nahhhhhhhhh, I don't see any reason to raise any McCain on this topic, but still, all in all, one does have to wonder sometimes what the priorities of our elected officials REALLY are...... I already know what they were, and what they could be, and I also see what they appear to be........

Jindal is going to be on Leno, so we ought to be thrilled about the great publicity for LA, right? Who better to represent us? He's enthusiastic, positive, articulate and can probably field leading questions about LA's corrupt reputation better than anyone. But y'all feel compelled to question his motives (is he gunning for VP?) and say that his announcement makes his earlier statement about being the most boring Governor "laughable." How cynical and damning can you be? He's trying to clean up the state and get people to come back to LA, and all you can do is stir up sensationalist statements about his veracity and his motives. I've enjoyed keeping abreast of news through this website but if you're going to become a tabloid, I'm not interested.
