According to the John Kennedy campaign, Republican Senate candidate John Kennedy will not be losing the advertising support of national Republicans as has been reported by numerous media outlets over the past few days.
A top spokesperson for the Kennedy campaign confirmed the buy.Bayoubuzz request the confirmation after showing a story to the Kennedy campaign that said that “The National Republican Senatorial Committee reversed course on Friday, buying more television ad time in Louisiana for next week, to run ads supporting Kennedy's election.
According to a spokeswoman for the NRSC, the organization says internal polling numbers show the race between Kennedy and Democratic incumbent Mary Ladrieu is tightening, prompting the new ad plans.”(See National GOP staying in La. Senate race)
Louisiana Highway Development
Today, Governor Bobby Jindal was joined by Department of Transportation and Development Deputy Secretary Sherri LeBas and Claiborne Chamber of Commerce Vice President J.T. Taylor to break ground on the $5.8 million embankment and drainage project for the 3.9 mile La. 3244 truck bypass project that will help alleviate congestion and improve safety in the Homer area.
Governor Bobby Jindal said, “This $5.8 million investment in the Homer bypass project that we are breaking ground on today is a great step forward toward relieving traffic congestion and increasing safety in the Homer area, where thousands of large trucks currently navigate around small downtown streets each year. This investment represents the biggest push toward the completion of the Homer Bypass since the project was first proposed in the early 1980s.”
Deputy Secretary LeBas said, "The people who live and work in this community have been pushing this project for years. We are here today because of their determination to have a safe route around the town and because we have an Administration that listens to people's concerns and takes action."
Claiborne Chamber of Commerce Vice President J.T. Taylor said, “A long awaited day arrived for the citizens of Claiborne Parish. We were excited to join with Gov. Bobby Jindal, Representative Rick Gallot, friends and neighbors on this monumental day in the economic future of Claiborne Parish.. Our thanks go out to Governor Jindal, Representative Rick Gallot and others that stood by our side and represented us so well on this truck by-pass project.”
The 3.9-mile La. 3244 bypass will run from West Main Street (U.S. 79) south of Homer to La. 2 west of Homer, which will allow trucks and other vehicles to move goods faster while improving safety for both drivers and the people of Homer by bypassing the downtown area. The $5.8 million commitment by the state the Governor highlighted today will fund the development of embankment and drainage structures that are essential to the construction and ultimate completion of the bypass.
Four roads currently converge in the downtown Homer Square area, including, U.S. 79, La. 2, La. 9, and La. 146, which creates safety hazards due to a high volume of 18-wheelers transporting logs, fuels, chemicals, heavy equipment, and oversize loads through small streets. The latest traffic counts show that West Main Street (U.S. 79) in Homer carries about 8,500 vehicles a day, many of which are 18-wheelers. DOTD estimates that an additional 30 to 50 tractor-trailers with oversized or overweight permits pass the downtown square every day.
The embankment and drainage project was awarded to Eutaw Construction Co. of Jackson, Mississippi, and is expected to be completed by the spring of 2009. DOTD will begin accepting bids for the paving of this portion of the bypass once the embankment work is completed.

Political polls are as accurate a measure of the votes on election day as the predicted path of a hurricane is in determining where it will actually strike. There are too many factors that can cause innacuracies for very much of anything to be based on them. Written by kpf

What's really hilarious is oil was falling to the -70 bucks per barrel and was heading south…. Gas falling less than $3.00 per gallon…… OPEC wants to step in to ‘stabilize’ the market…… Produce less and all that, meanwhile our ‘candidates’ are saying produce ‘more’………………… 10 years down the road that is……. This internet information/disinformation – bogus web crawler/firewalls – keep you in the dark and search till you are either blue in the face or drop dead of boredom game is getting old…. Same with the final bailout numbers….. 750 billion? 900 billion? 1 trillion? 1.5 trillion? 2 trillion? 2.5 trillion? In other words it is a big mind screw out there……… I love the Migoo social networkers lurking around out there in cyperspace, and this internet thing? One person, monitoring 50 blogs, X 1,000 ‘volunteers’…… Sort of like guerilla tactics…. Keep them guessing, keep them wondering….. Monitor Lizards….. Hmmmmm, what a novel concept…… Oh, but we must blog now mustn’t we????? BLOG-BLOG-BLOG-BLOG……………………… Oh, and Piyush, what say you about your lack of positive results as the Governor of Louisiana during your first 8 months in office? You have shown nothing, except that when the folks you were installed to serve get ticked off on a specific issue, and threaten you with a recall you tuck your tail between your legs and crawfish and do what you are supposed to be doing in the first place, which is govern in favor of prudence and proper measure…. So let’s see, oil falling, state revenues drop, you have to beg for money from the feds that they no longer have...... Oil goes up, gas goes up, folks complain, but the state is making more money, and taxing the folks further, and tax dollars are being wasted, and the coastal erosion thing is only being half heartidly approached...... And then you want to find even MORE money from the feds for ?????????????????????????? Piyush, perhaps you may want to share with the rest of the world why you do not explore and advocate the several hundred million dollars worth of cost savings and the added coastal protection being offered by www.strongconcrete.com for the state of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas…….. You know, on an AT COST BASIS so that the tax dollars that are being garnished from working people's checks can go farther and take care of other problems as well...... Governor Bobby Jindal, what on earth would possess you to think you are Presidential, let alone Vice Presidential material? I see no evidence of any kind of progressive thinking on the part of you, or your administration….. You may be book smart there Guv, but you sure are not reality smart, unless it is a hyperbole reality that you support. Yeah Bobby, keep them dancing, keep them wondering while you twist the screw clamps on their thumbs even tighter each day……………………… Written by
