Elections 2008

With the departure of Eddie Jordan, the 2008 year could be busy for the New Orleans area election crowd with elections for the seat currently occupied by Bobby Jindal, Eddie Jordan and, of course, there’s Mary Landrieu’s election.  Also, much attention will be on the Presidential race.

Jena Six

A new judge will will decide on whether the case against 17-year-old Mychal Bell should be open to the public. Bell was originally charged with attempted murder and is due in juvenile court next month after his original conviction was vacated.  He is the lead defendant in the Jena Six.  There are reports that White Supremacists will rally on Martin Luther King Day.  Early this year, thousands protested and marched in Jena blaming many institutions including the judicial system.  The entire Jena Six case made world wide attention.

Perrilloux Case

Videos of the altercation were released by a request of the DA handling the Perrilloux case, which DA Doug Moreaux has called said release as “big mistake”.  WJBO has just reported that according to sources,Perrilloux to be Cleared of Wrongdoing”  If so, the question is whether he will be available for Alabama.

"News organizations" seeking to open Bell's case are: The Associated Press The New York Times USA Today The Chicago Tribune The Los Angeles Times The Houston Chronicle The San Antonio Express-News The Beaumont Enterprise The Dallas Morning News CNN ABC News WDSU-TV in New Orleans WWL-TV in New Orleans WAPT-TV in Jackson WFAA-TV in Dallas KHOU-TV in Houston KVUE-TV in Austin KENS-TV in San Antonio The Courier of Houma The Daily Comet of Thibodaux The Town Talk of Alexandria The News-Star of Monroe The Times of Shreveport The Daily Advertiser of Lafayette The Daily World of Opelousas ...and the list keeps growing Hmmm. I gotta figure a way to make a buck on this too. (by the way, the button "Buzz Rigth Back" has a typo in it.)
