Louisiana Politics: Jindal, US House Elections and Senate Race

Bobby Jindal, fresh from his Leno showing will be flexing his political muscle and hosting campaign rallies for Steve Scalise and Woody Jenkins today.  The Scalise rally will start at 7pm at Jacmel Inn Restaurant in Hammond.  The event starts at 7.pm.  Scalise is running against Gilda Reed, a Democrat.  Earlier during the day, Jindal will be rallying the troops for Jenkins at the Hampton Inn in Denham Springs.

The elections for the 1st and the 6th Congressional Districts are Saturday.  Both races are scheduled to fill seats formerly held by then US Congressman Bobby Jindal and Richard Baker, respectively.  Both were Republicans.  Jenkins will be facing Democratic candidate Don Cazayoux and Independent Candidate Ashley Casey.  There will not be a need to obtain a 50 percent majority in either race as the candidate with the largest tally in each race will win the Congressional seats.

The surrogates for the U.S. Senate race candidates are going at it hot and heavy.  The GOP released a report citing a campaign controversy and a web site TrueLandrieuStory.com.      Brian Welsh, a Democratic Coordinator announced the launch of an anti-John Kennedy site called www.kennedyforwhatever.com.

Both the sites and the emails are indicative of the role that the Internet is playing in Louisiana politics and how Internet politics is taking a "negative turn" formerly reserved for more traditional media.

Oh Hell Tony, trying to set the buzzy bored news boys straight more often than not is like trying to set a mule straight by kicking it in the balz, generally all that happens is you get kicked in the head in return for your efforts...... Hmmmm, that's odd, same kind of thing pretty much happens when a person tries to set politicians straight too.............

Is the writer of this article aware that there are two Independents running in the 1st District. The writer mentioned the one in the sixth. Perhaps this writers is just not up to speed, can somebody please set this person straight?
