Bee:Man, boss, I need another set of wings.I am pooped flying around from one political event to another.I don’t mind the perks of hanging on the walls undetected and getting the nuggets of information where nobody knows I am present, but, after this election season, I am just totally fatigued. .
Bayoubuzz:So, what is the latest you can report?
Bee:Well, much of the nation and the world is ecstatic over a Barack Obama administration. His speech was one of the greatest. It was like one giant Superbowl party afterwards.Even McCain supporters were feeling pride that America has come so far in such a short period of time.
Bayoubuzz:Short time? You mean 302 years since the Declaration of Independence where all men are created equal?
Bee:Well, we took some side trips like slavery, Jim Crow, Separate But Equal, but we are back on track.
Bayoubuzz: Ok.I know the spontaneity of the excitement. But, since you are talking about being on track, do you really think that Obama will get a honeymoon period? What are you hearing?
Bee:Well, I know he won’t be a Clarence Thomas. But, my sources say he won’t be an Al Sharpton either.Plus, the expectations for this man is through the roof and so any mistake will hit hard. And, the racists of the nation are just waiting for him to slip. Then, they can say, see, I told you so.“Blacks can’t run this country. They will grind it into the ground as they did our cities. There will be corruption like you have never seen before.”Obama has a burden that I would not want.If he fails or slips once, the rednecks will come out of the closet yelping and hollering.Rush Limbaugh types will have a field day.Getting to the party is one thing.Making sure the party is running smoothly is another.
Bayoubuzz:So, where does that leave Louisiana?
Bee:Well, Bobby Jindal is in trouble. He supported the wrong people. He should have stayed neutral in the Presidential race and especially the US Senate race.He was thinking about his own political future and he has turned out being somewhat politically naive. You have to think what is best for the state first and then what is best for the politician second. He became a partisan and will be marginalized. He has some major fence mending to do.He might be incredibly popular in Louisiana, but, if he cannot deliver, that will look back for him. And, just think.Who can he reach out to in the Louisiana delegation?David Vitter?Give me a break.
Bayoubuzz:You really think that Mary Landrieu would not help out Jindal or Louisiana?
Bee:Well, being a bug on the wall, this is what I am hearing. If the issue is to absolutely benefit Louisiana, then, Senator Landrieu will be there, pushing, doing deep squats for Jindal. But, if the issue is really or perceived as a “Jindal” thing, don’t expect any help at all.It is all in the perception and the realities. And sometimes, our Congress people don’t do what our Governor wants.Just ask Governor Blanco about David Vitter.I know.I was on many walls before I got these recent set of wings which are worn out.
Bayoubuzz:Ok, well, let me ask you the really big questions. What about the US Senate race, Jefferson’s seat and the New Orleans Mayor’s election.
Bee: Boss, that is a mouthful.First, Jefferson opposition is no cinch but Jeff won’t be riding the Obama election coattails since that Prez election is kaput. The GOP, the whites and the Vietnamese will gang up on Jefferson. But, the black politicians are savoring his seat and are waiting for his conviction and appeals so they can run should Jefferson take a fall.Jefferson is a fighter and who knows what will happen with a new Justice Department.Jefferson won big against a well-known New Orleans figure, in Moreno. But, without Obama on the ticket, much depends upon whether the black politicians will support Dollar Bill so they can jump in the Congress race at a later time.Plus, the GOP politician is a nobody. He will soon become a somebody, however. As far as Vitter’s seat, who else has name recognition?Jay Dardenne?Plus, do you think the state and the national GOP will allow any opposition against Vitter? They value that seat even if Vitter hasn’t valued his family. Then, from the Demos, there’s Charlie Melancon and that’s it.As far as Mayor, well, don’t be surprised if Mitch Landrieu takes another crack at this election.Don’t forget, he’s term limited as Lt. Governor and he came close to beating Ray Nagin.Plus, with the recent Mary Landrieu database, the good will that has been created with Landrieu and New Orleans, and whites winning in the Big Easy, I will bet a wing on Mitch right now.
Bayoubuzz:Speaking of, boy, you have really earned your wings this time.Weeks ago, when John Kennedy said he was winning, you called the election for Mary Landrieu.I am thinking about giving you a contract extension.
Bee:That would be just boss, uh, boss.We have plenty of politics down the path. And these wings have had it.But, a little grease job would be just honey.
Check your math -- 302 years since the Declaration of Independence. I don't think so. Written by Charlie

The litmus test has revealed what the litmus test presented said would be so…….. Long before he was elected governor…. And in the background we have smug cocks joyously crowing in anticipation of America's upcoming plate of crow... God Bless America, God Bless Louisiana, and God Bless all of the citizens within…….
