Source; Louisiana Jindal Adm. Asked Landrieu, Delegation For Medicaid Aid, Comparing to Harry Reid, Nevada

Buzz Right Back----E-Mail a Friend----Print Page

According to very close sources to the events, at the time the US Senate Finance Committee was actually considering the controversial health care legislation, an extremely relevant and high-ranking Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal administration official communicated by email (on September 16)-- that the Louisiana Congressional delegation also should try to get similar assistance from the US Senate Finance Committee as the state of Nevada was obtaining.

According to the source, this email communication occurred after Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) had disclosed that Nevada would obtain assistance for its Medicaid problem from the health care legislation.

This new information is expected to be disclosed today as Mary Landrieu goes to the US Senate to discuss the health care legislation, her involvement and relevant Louisiana governmental communications.

According to a press release from Senator Landrieu, “U.S. Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., will head to the floor of the U.S. Senate at 1p.m. today to outline why she fought so hard for the inclusion of the $300 million Louisiana Medicaid provision in the Senate health care reform bill. Landrieu will refute misinformation being spread by opponents of the bill and disclose the details of the multiple requests made by Louisiana’s Republican Governor, Bobby Jindal -- from the first meeting at the Governor’s Mansion to its inclusion in the Senate health care bill.

The Senator will also make available documentation that accompanied the process, including correspondence and letters from the Governor and every member of Louisiana’s Congressional Delegation -- all of whom supported the Medicaid fix.

Following Sen. Landrieu’s floor speech there will be a pen and pad for members of the media in the Senate Print Press Gallery. “

The speech will take place at 1pm EST or 12pm CST.

Video will be available live on C-SPAN 2

After Senator Landrieu’s very controversial vote, I broke the story that the Jindal Administration had requested the delegation to assist Louisiana with its Medicaid problem and that high Jindal Administration officials actually knew that the legislation was in the health care bill prior to Landrieu’s vote.

After breaking the story, I complained that not once did the Jindal administration or any other member of the Louisiana Congressional delegation request the legislation be removed--either prior to her vote or even at any time after the vote. I have also complained that no Louisiana Congressional delegation member or top Jindal administration official has spoken out on behalf of Senator Landrieu even after an onslaught of very ugly innuendos, slurs and outright horrible remarks launched against Louisiana US Senator Mary Landrieu’s character.

In fact, earlier this week, during Fox News Sean Hannity’s interview of James O’Keefe, the two once again alluded to US Senate Landrieu, the health care bill and “corruption”.

After that program, not once has any Louisiana Congressional official defended Mary Landrieu after these recent comments.   Nor did Governor Bobby Jindal.

It will be most interesting to see exactly what Senator Mary Landrieu reveals today.  It will be most interesting to see how the Louisiana Congressional delegation, Governor Jindal and others respond or fail to respond, once again.

Well, I didn't want to see nearly a half billion dollars worth of white elephant being built under the guise of it being a 'Charity' (ha-ha! charity, you just gots to luv the oxymoron in that) hospital for it to really be an excuse to suck taxpayers dollars from the taxpayer whether they live in Nevada, or they live in Louisiana, or any other state of the Union for that matter....

As long as Reid and company are passing out baskets of goodies of course Gov. Jindal and any and all other states, Democrat or Republican, should ask for equal consideration. What's the big deal about Gov. Jindal saying, "as long as you're giving it away, how about giving us some?" Whad to you want?
