Leon Cannizzaro will formally announce his candidacy for Orleans Parish District Attorney today at Jax Brewery in New Orleans. Cannizzaro was a Criminal Court Judge from 1986 to 2002 and has been a 4th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge since 2003. He resigned from that position last week to run for District Attorney.

Ralph Capitelli, a practicing attorney is also running for the same position.
