Spring is in the air and it felt heavenly during Saturday's St. Patrick's Day Parade and on St. Patrick's Day. I enjoyed very much donning my green chapeau and taking my darling dog Tito and my beau to the Irish Channel parade. It was a lot of fun.
On Monday, I had the honor of eating cabbage and corned beef (which was added by the Irish to their celebration in NYC not in Ireland) at Brennan's Restaurant, followed by a lovely visit to the exquisite Houmas House and Plantation in Burnside. As always Kevin Kelly's hospitality was outstanding, and Chef Jeremy Langlois' creative cuisine of Lantil's Landing was delicious.
In case you have not been to Houmas House, the crown jewel of Louisiana's River Road Plantations, I urge you to visit it, since personally, I think this is the most beautiful time to visit when the azaleas and all the delicate, colorful flowers are blooming. I am always amazed at all the new additions to the gardens. Not to be missed. Visit http://www.houmashouse.com/

I need to congratulate my darling friend, artist Amzie Adams for being featured in the new gallery at 830 Royal Street. Thanks to the vision of gallery owner Liza Faia, Anzie 's work can be seen daily at the new gallery in addiction to her other gallery, White Peacock at the Court of Two Lions,710 Toulouse Street. Amzie is a nationally recognized artist who has lived in New Orleans for forty years as a poet, actor, musician, filmmaker and painter. His style of painting which he describes as “post-impressionistic specialism,” is a combination of New Orleans dreamscapes and psychedelic color palates twisted and bent to form a unique style of his own. His work easily conveys the classic and the bohemian flairs of the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny, the heart and soul of New Orleans. Please check it out!
