The endorsement for Carter who is New Orleans City Councilman was a big win given that Congressman Bill Jefferson has traditionally carried this endorsement.Earlier this week, the Alliance for Good Government threw its endorsement to Cedric Richmond.
Jimmy Fahrenholtz, who is also running for Congress for the same seat did not prevail in his Appeals court challenge.A District Court said that he could not run since he did not disclose outstanding campaign finance fees or fines owed when he signed up to run for Congress on July 11.Fahrenholtz has admitted he is currently obligated but he said that he was not required to disclose the information on the form since the the outstanding amounts were not for Congressional elections.
