Below  is the agenda for the New Orleans City Council meeting for November 5, 2009:  

 

NOLA City Council Meets in Regular Session
Thursday, November 5th at 10 a.m. 
Agenda Highlights Listed Below
 

What:         Among the Agenda items scheduled to be addressed at
                   tomorrow's City Council Meeting: 
  • Ordinance to promote a spay and neuter program for dogs and to establish an intact dog permit, to be addressed by the Council at 1 p.m. 
  • Resolution urging the federal government to continue funding the Counseling Service Unit program to ensure the health of the city's first responders
  • Zoning Docket approving a zoning change from a Light Industrial district to Park and Recreation district for land along the east bank of the Mississippi River, in preparation for the "Reinventing the Crescent" riverfront development
  • Resolution thanking Congressman Cao's office for their work to commemorate the honor flights that fly World War II veterans at no charge to the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
  • Resolution supporting the local oyster industry and opposing the severe burden that the Food and Drug Administration intends to place on that industry
  • Resolution supporting the efforts of the Fast Forward Restart organization and the Fast Forward Main Street Demonstration Project, with aims to help revitalize New Orleans East and thirty of its small businesses
  • Report on property tax assessments and their impact on the City Budget
  • Report updating the Council on 100-year storm protection from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
  • Presentation briefing the Council on the AFL-CIO's Investment Trust Corporation
  • Presentation discussing the International High School
