Leon A. Cannizzaro, Jr., D barely edged out Democrat Ralph Capitelli in the Orleans Parish election and what was considered to be a hotly contested race on Saturday, October 4.  A runoff is expected between the former assistant district attorneys for the New Orleans seat.

In addition, also in New Orleans, Christopher Bruno slightly beat Paul Brown, both Democrats.  Robin Pittman will face Yolanda King in judgeship races.

Karen Herman and long-time Judge, Gerald Hansen won straight-up in the New Orleans-based races.

Woody Koppel handily beat his opponent Percy Marchand for Orleans Parish School Board.

Wyatt- Morals and Capitelli are you kidding???? Capitelli has bankrolled the lies and misrepresenations he has put out about Cannizzaro with money he has made from murderers, batterers and embezzelers. He's the kind that would stand in line to defend Bill Jefferson.he did it for Simms. This man has no sense of what is right. he had a choice about who he defended and he choice the scum.He is all about the cash. We dod not need someone trying to buy the DA's office. NOLA is sick of it. We want the experience and leadership of a good man, Leon Cannizzaro. And I believe I saw Sid Arroyo listed as his campaign manager. Lots of people are volunteering for the Judge because we know he's our only hope!!!!

Wyat, these kinds of sleezy attacks on Canizarro's campaign are only going to help Canizarro.

I cannot believe the voters of the city of N.O. have done it again. They cast their votes for two suspicious people in critical positions to this city and state. One being Bill Jefferson and the Other Leon Canizzaro. Jefferson, I won't even waste my time talking about because everyone knows about his arrest and trial already and if you cast your vote for him than you are no better than he is. The other,is Leon Canizzaro, and he has a convicted felon working on his campaign. How can a man who wants to be district attorney have a person who has recently been released from federal prison for income tax violations work on his campaign and basically run it. Thisis the kind of person who is already known to violate the law and try to hide money from the government and not pay his taxes (and we are talking about lots of money). Billy Schultz a former police officer and confidant of the late Dutch Morial is doing just that. He is a major player in the campaign of the DA candidate Leon Canizzaro. How sad this is to be running for the office that demands the most in honesty and integrity and have a person who has just been released from prison within the last year be a major player in your effort to win election to that office. Think again N.O. and wake up and vote for the other guy who has the distinction of being a man of morals, integrity, and honesty. Wyatt H
