The NFL has suspended six players including three major players of the New Orleans Saints for using a diuretic.The diuretic can serve as a masking agent for steroids.
The New Orleans Saints will be losing for a four week suspension running back Deuce McAllister, defensive linemen Charles Grant and Will Smith of New Orleans.Also, Minnesota was hit hard by losing defensive linemen Kevin and Pat Williams of Minnesota.Houston lost the services of center Bryan Pittman.
Charles Grant had already been out for the year due to injury.
The NFL has said that the suspensions are binding but some of the players are looking for alternative “appropriate” actions to avert the suspensions.
The news comes at a time when the Saints lost a bitter game against the Tampa Bay Bucs and are a long-shot for a playoff post.
