President Barack Obama is getting ready to give his State of the Union message tonight. He will be trying to sell himself as a deficit hawk, which is laughable considering his track record of the past year. In the first year of the Obama administration, the deficit has quadrupled to $1.4 trillion, the projections for the federal debt have doubled to $24 trillion. After campaign against earmarks, the President pushed through an omnibus spending plan stuffed with pork.
He was also successful in persuading Congress to pass a wasteful stimulus bill. It was supposed to jump start the economy and keep unemployment under 8%. In fact, just the opposite occurred as the economy soured and the unemployment rate skyrocketed to 10.1%.. Since his previous plans have failed, he is considering another wasteful spending bill dubbed the “son of stimulus.” Sadly, this will be as ineffective as the first one. His failures are no secret to the American people. A strong majority of Americans now realize that the first stimulus plan was a bust. In a CNN poll released Sunday, 56% of the respondents oppose the stimulus, while only 42% express support.
Despite these severe economic woes, the President has spent the entire year trying to ram a $2.5 trillion healthcare plan down the throats of unwilling Americans.. This plan will be a disaster and strong majorities of Americans do not want socialized medicine. Opposition to the healthcare bill was one of the major reasons that Republican Scott Brown won in Massachusetts.
While Americans wanted positive action on the economy, President Obama was obsessed with a government takeover of healthcare. Now that the handwriting is on the wall concerning his beloved healthcare plan, the President is finally turning his attention to the economy. This is overdue to say the least and it reflects panic in the White House at their dwindling political support.
The President’s approval ratings are below 50% in almost every poll, showing a decline of almost 30% from this lofty start last January. He has been pushing an unpopular leftist agenda on an American public which is basically center-right. The result has been angry crowds at tea parties and town hall meetings.
His political support has waned so much that Democratic candidates do not want the President to campaign on their behalf. Who can blame them? In the last three elections, the President campaigned for Democrats, but wound up helping Republicans get elected.
His “minus” touch has extended to sports as well. He traveled all the way to Copenhagen to campaign for Chicago to win the 2016 Olympics. Despite a personal appeal, Chicago finished last in the Olympic balloting.
Now, in an ABC interview, the President revealed that he is a Saints fan and will be pulling for the team in the Super Bowl. Considering his track record, this cannot warm the hearts of the Black and Gold faithful. Just what the team needs, the bad luck of an Obama endorsement. Let’s just hope he does not go to Miami to campaign for the team.

Dear Employees: As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way... To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%. But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead.... This has really been bothering me since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go.... So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty 'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change...... I gave it to them.... I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.
