William “Bill” Jefferson has been sentenced with a 13 year sentence in his federal criminal case.Jefferson had been Congressman for the 2nd Congressional District of Louisiana which covers New Orleans and Louisiana. It is uncertain whether Jefferson will be immediately sentenced to prison.
The Congressional seat is currently held by Joseph Joe Cao.Jefferson has filed for bankruptcy and the question of an attorney for his appeal might be an issue since he might not be able to afford a private attorney.
Friday the 13th, and a 13 year sentence, and e'Claire on 11/13/2009 is concerned with Sentence 'structuring'... Har dee-har-har.... I am more concerned with the template that is drawn upon when a sentence is contmeplated, how un-original.... Too bad it wasn't the 26th when he was to appear for sentancing, that might have given a lot more of us a reason for "Thanksgiving" above and beyond some crummy college football game....

I suppose that sentence is about right for good old "Dollar Bill"!
But I wonder - do you writers never proof-read your columns? I am rather shocked by the following: "William “Bill” Jefferson has been SENTENCED with a 13 year SENTENCE..." Although this may be structurally correct, it most certainly is not good form. Every high school student should know this, and I would expect that writers, especially, would be cognizant of such things. Written by e'Claire

Not a long enough sentence but at least the democratic party is through with him. Written by Cry over this
