According to one Louisiana organization, there should not be a debate or perhaps there won't be one.
An organization called the "Louisiana Coalition Against Government Rationed Health Care" has sent out a press release via the Louisiana Republican Party. It says it is a Louisiana-based grassroots organization and further states it worked with others across America in defeating the Clinton Health Care plan. Now it has another mission, the Obama Health care program. Here is the press release by the Coalition:
Sandy Hindelang, of the Louisiana Coalition against Government Rationed Health Care called upon Congress today to preserve the best health care system in the world
“America has the best health care in the world,” said Hindelang. “This is why people from other countries come to America to receive medical treatment.”
“There is absolutely no need for ‘a sweeping health care bill’ to be enacted in haste,” she added.
“The proposal has not even been drafted, yet liberal Democrats, led by Nancy Pelosi and President Barak Obama are already demanding that it be approved this summer. We have seen enough of these gargantuan liberal measures that nobody reads.”
“What the Democrats want is bureaucrat-dominated, government-rationed health care,” she said. “This would destroy our top-rated health care, harm patients and increase costs. The result would be dramatically increased taxes on working Americans.”
“We call on Congress to reject this whole notion of completely changing American Health Care,” said Hindelang.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced yesterday her desire to have a “sweeping” proposal to be voted on in July. President Obama claimed an “urgency” because, he argued “The system is broken”.
“President Obama and Speaker Pelosi could not be more wrong on this,” said Hindelang. “Our system is the best in the world, it is not broken. And the last thing we need is another dinosaur-sized bill that nobody reads to ruin our health care system in America.”
President Obama stated today that “Now the House and Senate are beginning a critical debate that will determine the health of our nation’s economy and its families. This process should be transparent ….”
How can we begin a debate over a bill in Congress that has even been drafted or presented? How can this be transparent when we don’t even know what we are looking at?
“Instead of being transparent, the Obama administration is as clear as mud,” said Hindelang.”
