U.S. Army Major Nidal Malik Hassan killed 13 and wounded 30 in a massacre at Fort HoodTexas yesterday.
Hassan has been rising through the ranks of the U.S. Army for years despite poor performance evaluations and anti-American sentiments.
Hassan is a practicing Muslim who was captured on video on the day of the massacre in Muslim attire. He attended a local mosque and was not shy about expressing his devotion to Islam. His views were radical and his former Army colleagues report that Hassan expressed sympathy for Islamic suicide bombers and believed that the United States should not have armed forces in Afghanistan or Iraq.
Hassan was getting ready to be deployed to Iraq and he did not want to go. He even hired an attorney and tried to get out of his commitment to the U.S. Army. It is clear that Hassan hated America even though U.S. taxpayers paid his salary and funded his college and medical school education.
It is also obvious that at least some people in the U.S. Army knew that this type of radical Muslim was within its ranks, but they were either not able or not willing to remove him. In our politically correct society, there is a reluctance to take action against Muslim extremists in this country for fear of offending the Islamic world. In fact, as the event unfolded yesterday, news reporters were even reluctant to mention the killer’s name. Sadly, the disease of political correctness, which has infected our country and our government, has now contaminated our military forces. There will be tragic consequences for our country if we continue to be influenced by this philosophy.
Hassan was promoted and placed in an extremely sensitive position of counseling soldiers dealing with the stress of war. Who knows that type of insidious counsel that he offered to troubled soldiers.
Reportedly, Hassan hoped that Obama would remove U.S. troops from the Afghanistan and Iraq and he was angered that our soldiers remained in both countries.
His anger was well known, yet he continued to serve in the military. It has been reported that he made “outlandish” comments condemning U.S. foreign policy. Of course, no one could have imagined the type of carnage that he was going to commit, but this case should serve as a warning for this country.
We have to face the reality that radical Islamists are in this country plotting to commit violence in the name of Allah. In fact, Hassan yelled in Arabic, “God is great,” right before he committed his massacre.
The motive for this massacre is no mystery. According to multiple reports, Hassan made numerous Internet posts making threats against this country and equating suicide bombers to soldiers on the battlefield who fall on a grenade to save fellow soldiers. By committing this crime, Hassan showed his true colors. Now, we need to determine whether he was acting alone or working with a foreign government or terrorist organization.
Either way, we need to learn some lessons from his horrific crime. We cannot hide from this basic truth any longer. We must remove these terrorists from our country and especially our military and imprison those that make threats to Americans. If Hassan was responsible for the Internet posts, he was a traitor who committed treason before he engaged in outright terrorism.
Yesterday, Hassan should not have been on an army base killing his comrades, he should have already been in jail.

That is the question indeed. I don't think the U.S., Europe, or the U.S.S.R. or Red China, would ever open that Pandora's box. We're more materialists than religious, the Reds are atheist. Muslim fundamentalists are "true believers" - as dangerous as the SS or NKVD; only one way to stop them. It's just a question of how many casualties we incur before we do what needs to be done. Back in the embassy takeover in '79 I read up on radical Islam. My conclusion was MAD would not deter them as good atheist commies are; they don't care whether they live or die. So if they get "the bomb" - they will use it. Because of "who we are today" (a PC society) it will take losing a city before we wake up, and demonstrate - yet again - what a mistake it is for attacking us. All this post WWII win the enemy people's "hearts and minds" and "install democracy" nonsense shows us to be chumps. Look at how compliant the German and Japanese populace (the "survivors" that is) were when we occupied them. They knew exactly what we were capable of (targeting population centers), and knew we would do it, repeating it as often as we had the whim to do so. From one of the wisest human beings ever to draw breath - Niccolo Machiavelli: “Since it is difficult to join them together, it is safer to be feared than to be loved when one of the two must be lacking.” ... and two more from this misrepresented and therefore misunderstood and wrongly denigrated man: “It is not titles that honor men, but men that honor titles.” ___ "Where the willingness is great the difficulties cannot be great” Written by kpf

Dear Cry, I did not blame this incident on our president, it is not his fault. It is a fact that the military has been pushed into being "politically correct" and in this case it may have led to murder of too many of our heroes and caused great suffering to the families and and the survivors. This was pre-meditated. I have a big problem with a commander in chief who jumps to conclusions when his friend is involved in an incident in Cambridge but says to hold off on jumping to conclusions in this case. He is to busy giving "shout outs" to people in the audience to act like a real commander in chief. Since then his handlers have corraled the teleprompter in chief and he is acting more presidential. And will this be tried as a true hate crime? It is apparent he hated the Americans in that hall. Written by CN

Hate Crime legislation? What a joke. As you say, any voilence stems from hate, but more importantly it is yet another inconsistency from the left. The left will claim that increasing prison time does not deter crime. Okay, let's assume for the sake of argument that is true. So exactly what does "Hate Crime Legislation" do? It provides stiffer penalties - longer jail time - for certain crimes. Uh .. okay .. .but ... I thought longer jail time was "not the answer." Does this make sense? No. Oh well, no need to attempt to make sense of this really. Also, in 1992, congress had the FBI collect data for the Unified Crime Reports that would - for the first time - show the race of both victims and perpetrators. The idea was to justify "Hate Crime Legislation." The results were not what the supporters expected (this was backed by the Congressional Black Caucus, it was supposed to show how blacks were being victimized by whites, but instead revealed how much higher homicide rates by blacks were). Undeterred by facts, liberals forge ahead with "Hate Crime legislation." The reality of how crime breaks down among age, sex, and race is available on this Bureau of Justice link (I cannot provide the entire link as Steven has had virus attacks with hyperlinks; therefore the "ach-tee-tee" stuff): ach-tee-tee-pee-colon-double forward slash triple double-yew dot ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/homicide/ageracesex.htm Written by kpf

Why was he still in the military as a commisioned officer with due rank or grade that could under military law effect orders to be carried out or acted upon in the field even when his 'Anti-American/Anti-infidels' dispositions were common knowledge? Because he and his attitudes, as well as a his rank were considered to be useful by one of his superior officers in the chain of command. Why wasn't that superior officers considerations superceeded by another superior officer's review? Well, that's the same kind of question that went unanswered by the Warren Commission... I was looking up Mormons the other day and had run across this. I do not think we need to fear Mormons but this should show you can have good and bad in any religion.
Why did the Mormons practice Blood Atonement through the "Avenging Angels"?
Because Mormons err so badly in doctrines inspired by their corrupt founders it should come as no surprise to find that they indulged in the heretical doctrine of Blood Atonement which denies the Almighty efficacy of Jesus Christ's sacrificial death at Calvary. The "Death Society" - which carried out these killings in the last century - was also known as "Daughters of Gideon," "Avenging Angels," "Destroying Angels," or, in Brigham Young's reign, as "Sons of Thunder," "Sons of Dan," or "Danites" (from Genesis 49v17) and began its work in the midwest in the days of Joseph Smith and continued its work in Utah. Young can clearly be shown to have directed their attacks when, armed with the promise that they would be "gods," they assumed the power to avenge and take the lives of opponents or disobedient members, leaving their bodies littered on the ground - and inviting revenge attacks. Today only "Mormon fundamentalists" - who still believe in these doctrines which the "official Mormon church" wishes we didn't know about - occasionally carry out this blasphemous doctrine in the USA today.

Funny how contrary the left can be. Some whites in Louisiana are racist - yet many on the left will refer to white Louisiana residents as "racist" - as though all are. Some abortion protesters are violent, so ALL who protest by abortions are equally "dangerous." But then, not all environmentalists are culpable due to the Unabomber; nor are all blacks to be judged by the actions of some young black males. Likewise, we cannot show any additional caution when dealing with Muslims, despite their religion espousing slavery or death for those who are not of their religion. "Fairness" in my mind is to judge individuals as individuals and not a member of a group - HOWEVER - just as any of us would not be as "on guard" with an elderly female approaching us in a dark alley as we would be approached by group of young males, it does make sense to be more discerning where Islam is concerned.
