Tomorrow U.S. Senator Barack Obama visits New Orleans as part of his latest campaign swing. Undoubtedly, Obama will be greeted by throngs of supporters, adoring members of the media and party activists.
However, I believe that in all of the media adulation for Obama, journalists have forgotten to ask some important questions for the leading Democratic presidential contender. Here are a few important ones that need to be asked:
My questions for Obama:
1)What specifically will you do to improve the economy?
2)How will you pay for your expensive health care program?
3)Who will you tap for your cabinet to bring some much needed experience to your administration?
4)How will you continue the war on terror?
5)How quickly will you bring home our troops in Iraq?
These are just a few of my questions that are currently going unanswered. In his speeches, Obama talks of “hope” and “change,” but gives very few specifics. We do know that the National Journal has ranked Obama as the most liberal U.S. Senator.
So, Obama is more liberal than Ted Kennedy and of course more liberal than Hillary Clinton. In fact, Obama makes Hillary Clinton look that a moderate, which is a quite an accomplishment.
There is plenty of hype involved in the Obama movement. He is riding an incredible groundswell that has translated into political victories and millions in fundraising. Yet, in my view, his lack of experience makes him unqualified for the most important job in the world. He has been in the U.S. Senate for only three years and most of that time; he has spent on the road running for President.
This nation, in an age of terrorism, cannot afford on the job training for the most important and most difficult job in the world. The stakes are too high and the consequences could be pretty severe for our nation.

Jeff: Your last question in your commentary is the one that sets Obama apart from all the rest except Ron Paul, democrat or republican. "How soon will you bring our troops home from Iraq?" Obama is the only candidate other than Dr. Paul who was against the war in 2002, so he is the only candidate with a clean and consistent record on the war. Hillary Clinton did not even bother to read what she was voting for in 2003, knowing our 18 to 25 year old men and women would return home in body bags or crippled and maimed for life--she calls that leadership and experience. John McCain is going to run on a more pro-war platform than the most unpopular administration ever--the Bush administration, at a time when over 70 percent of the American people are against the war and say the country is on the wrong track. "Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are condemned to repeat it." This November, just like November '06, will be another debacle and bloodbath for the republican party and they will deserve it if they do not distance themselves from George W. Bush who has been in the low 30's popularity-wise for nearly his entire second term. Written by Randall
