How does Hillary Clinton possibly expect to win in a battle against Barack Obama in a war of words is the issue of the day.
Or should we say words of “slash and burn”?
Former Clinton friend, David Geffen hosted a major fundraiser for the Hollywood bunch for Obama. Previously, we had raised over 18 million for Bill Clinton.
Geffen then told The New York Times that the Clintons are liars, that Hillary Clinton is coldly ambitious and that the former president hasn't changed his ways.
Hillary Clinton's team fired back Wednesday, with a upbeat message with a twist of the knife.
''I want to run a very positive campaign, and I certainly don't want the candidates or supporters to engage in the politics of personal destruction,'' Clinton said when she was asked Wednesday about the brouhaha.
Then, came her dutiful aides:
''While Sen. Obama was denouncing slash and burn politics . . . his campaign's finance [chairman] was viciously and personally attacking Sen. Clinton and her husband,'' said Howard Wolfson, Clinton's campaign communications director. Geffen issued a statement in which he corrected Wolfson's characterization of him as Obama's finance director, The Associated Press reported.
''If Sen. Obama is indeed sincere about his repeated claims to change the tone of our politics,'' Wolfson said, ``he should immediately denounce these remarks, remove Mr. Geffen from his campaign and return his money. . . . [There] is no place in our party or our politics for the kind of personal insults made by Sen. Obama's principal fundraiser.''
Obama's camp then responded with the obvious—this is the same Geffen who got royal treatment when he was raising money for the Clintons.
So, we are a year away from primaries, but, right now, the Democrat leaders are throwing torch bombs at one another.
Sick, Sick, Sick,,,,,,,, the only reason that President Clinton's great achievements were not greater was that the Radical Right Wing Republicans tied him up for three years with the Monica issue that made us the "laughing stock of the world"!!! No where else in the world would the issue have been discussed publicly as it did here. It took place; we Democrats forgave, as did Hillary......What does the wedding vow say: "For better, for worse, for richer for poorer, 'til death do us part" Hillary has not reminded us of this,,,,,,,I am....... How sad, that Bayou Buzz and the media, and let's not forget the Republicans will try to let this be a primary issue........ No way!!! We must all scream: "Blue Murder"... Bill Clinton the Great Good,,,and the least important bad as far as government goes..........will be an asset to Hillary. All he has to do is appear either before or after each of her public appearances and her ratings will soar. She's brilliant, she's attractive, she's informed, she's involved, and she's experienced in public affairs and government more than any other woman running for national office has been. Face it, the American scenario and image can only improve. Let's move on to today and tomorrow's domestic and world issues.

Surely the U.S. deserves more than a return of the Clintons.
Any woman who overlooks the behaviour of Billy Boy in order to run for President is obviously willing to do anything to be elected to the highest office. Her Husband made America the laughing stock of the World. The U.S needs a leader to restore
it's prestige to what it should be.

I have been watching and listening to all the remarks made by the left and the right , and i will throw my comments in as wel;-), I think that Barack Obama has a good chance on changing the face of American, Gary you want to talk about experience, George Bush , has years of experience and look what has happen to us, i won't take any thing away from Condi, but she is right along with this administration,Barack has 2 years experience as a senator, but over 15 years as a pubic servant and working in politics, So we are not talking about someone who has just pop into politics, He is very well experienced.
For the comments that were made by David Geffen, were a personal attack, as far as i am concern, something happen with them personally and i have never heard of a candidate removing themselves from a contributor unless they are Polically incorrect, illegal activity.
Do i think that barack should denounce Davis geffen NO.
I'm sure that there are a few contributors in the client camp that are the same way, question is are the denouncing them.

Enough already, but let's be honest people, Obama is just riding the tide of his little celebrity. I nor this country is ( I hope not) going to vote for a man with just 2 years in the senate, for god sakes the lunch lady at any elementary school around the nation has more qualifications to run this country. You get an A for gumption O, but let's face facts, if we vote for a black president, Condi has my vote, 20 yrs. compared to 2???? PLEASE...

I have a sense that Hillary's camp was in waiting for Obama to "dis" another candidate, but this was the closest they have come to that opportunity, so they foolishly took it. As articulate (pardon for using this word) as she is, I don't see anyone beating Obama in a war of words, and Hillary just came out looking silly and hypocritical on this one. I'm glad that Obama took the position he did, because he has to demonstrate that he can stand up to Hillary and anyone else who expects him to jump when they say "frog". And besides, he is right. Why should he apologize for something a supporter said? I don't expect her to issue apologies every time one of her supporters criticizes another candidate. Also, in addition to his extraordinary communications skills, Obama is a very likeable fellow, and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when he is criticized unfairly. This may sound like I don't like Hillary, but that isn't the case. I admire her in many ways, but I like her less today than I did 2 days ago.

Well it just shows that Obama will fight Hillary all the way - something she probably didn't expect. It's gonna be fun to watch.
