Would Louisiana Bobby Jindal Accept Gop Veep Job

Written by: Stephen Sabludowsky

Buzz Right Back----E-Mail a Friend----Print Page

At the Tuesday news conference promoting Governor Jindal’s major agenda item, workforce development, a press question came from the back.  To paraphrase:  Robert Novak has suggested Bobby Jindal for the GOP ticket, and?

Jindal did the political and the polite thing to do.

He said that he loves his job as Governor and plans to remain on the job to fill his term and hopes he gets re-elected.  He also said that his focus today is on workforce issues.  Jindal also displayed a little embarrassment, a lot of honesty and wanted to move the subject back to workforce.

Although he did not say he would absolutely under no circumstances ever accept the position if asked, the message was very clear.  Jindal appears to be a man on a mission-- which is to improve Louisiana and while it is certainly an honor to be mentioned by national politicals such as Novak and Rush Limbaugh, he’s seems like he is no rush to leave Baton Rouge.

For many, his job is workforce in the position he was elected last year in which is doing quite well, not job jumping.  It appears, Jindal would certainly agree.

All I can say is this, poboy1 - if you're a product of a public school education, then you are Exhibit "A" of just how wrong ole Tee Dub can be sometimes! If you're the product of a private school education, then your parents should get their money back! And Kerry, that is a funny book - I lost my copy in Katrina, though. TW

Don't knock yourself poboy1, if you can spell apostrophe well enough for spell-check to recognize it, you're way ahead of me. Despite agreeing that Rush is correct on many issues, Al Franken's "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Liar" (or sumtin like dat) is terrifically funny (as in: "I-can-hardly-breathe-I'm-gasping-for-breath funny"), worth picking up for free at the library at the very least.

Tee Dub....Limbaugh has been going through liberals like a buzzsaw at a paper mill for 20 plus years; and you want examples? Why should I bother, although I could site many. Go to his website. Facts are stubborn things. About the apostrophe issue, I also don't spell very well at times, but no matter, I know you get the point, loud and clear.

I will say, your site is interesting - but would best be viewed while on acid - very colorful; you do make some good points, I will admit. The difference between us is this: I'm making smart-a$$ cracks while I watch the ship slowly sink, you seem to think it can be saved. I hope you're right but I really don't think so. The entitlement lifestyle is increasing exponentially (longer life spans, children of welfare becoming welfare mothers and grandmothers, more and better drugs that people see as their right to have for free or as cheaply as possible), may as well familiarize yourself with "Das Kapital" - "Workers of the world unite" and all that. I've got to (well... "I should") get some work done for <da folks who pay me>, so ... talk amongst yourselves. (oh wait.... it's almost time for lunch! cool)

VALUE of market forces -VALUE, I gots valves in da brain, I'm writting a procedure which in my bidness is opening, closing and bleeding thru valves (not values) - the procedure I'm writting is "a bit" more sophisticate than the one I provided at the end of the post below, mais yeah.

TW, I'm sure you're a fine good-hearted fellow, but surely you must realize that simply because someone disagrees with you, that doesn't necessarily mean they have a pointy-head. It is incorrect to see - IMHO - those who have opposing viewpoints only as typified by the furthest most extreme elements. Just as not all environmentalists are potential "Unabombers" so too not every one who believes in the valve of market forces vs. government control of the market is a racist Nazi (or believes in Creationism, etc.). Maybe their life experiences have led them to a different viewpoint than your journey has. Oh yeah, Anthony has – like his racist white counterparts – condemned all those who are “different” from himself; I judge him no different from David Duke. Like Duke his hatred will probably blind him forever from seeing these “different” beings as someone no different from himself, his Mother or any one else “like him.” Don’t make excuses for those who embrace hatred – there is no justification for it – none. Lastly – take this from an former oilfield trash instrumentation tech – see if you can’t get someone to install a small valve in the lowest point in your gas line so you can drain it yourself (I am not actually familiar with codes and such here on the continent, but this would be a 5 minute job on an offshore platform to install then a 10 second job to blow out any accumulated liquids as needed). OR (now don't blow yourself up here) 1) shutoff da gas 2) disconnect <sumting> DOWNSTREAM of the closed valve 3) open da valve and blow out da liquid 4) close da valve 5)reconnect da loostened ting 6) open da valve ***Dat would woik too Cher

I agree. I enjoy Rush, Al Franken, "The Daily Show", "The Colbert Report", whatever Bill Maher's latest political program may be and any other political satire. If one can laugh at oneself - including your political beliefs - it’s all good, no matter the political slant. Let’s not forget our local "Politics with a Punch” either. If you're not laughing at politics, you're not paying close enough attention to it. I no longer receive "The Limbaugh Letter" but I did thoroughly enjoy his "Stupid Quotes" section; the fact that Limbaugh will print these quotes - but the mainstream media would not - shows that he fills a needed niche in our society.

Now, Kerry, you couldn't possibly be talking about ME, now, could you? Surely not, fine sir! :) Poboy1, you offer nothing but your poorly-researched, poorly thought-out opinions here. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, but if you're going to make a statement attacking a group of people, back it up with some facts - and learn how to use the %$#*&^% possessive already - the ignorance of people with regard to apostrophes really annoys the crap out of me. "Professor" - my respect for you grew a little bit when you said you're not a Limbaugh fan. I'm sure that I come off sometimes as someone who thinks that all conservatives are idiots, but I know that's not the case. Anthony - dude, lighten up a bit. I think you know that I understand your anger, but calling white Americans "Europeans" isn't helping anyone. We're all on this planet together and so we'd better start learning how to get along, tout-de-suite. Now if y'all will excuse me, I'm going to try to avoid the Internet today because I am waaay behind on work. Oh, and I'm stuck at home waiting for Entergy to come drain my gas line AGAIN. Do they give ya a time window - hell no - I'm just supposed to sit here all day! As they said in the Krewe du Vieux parade - "Entergy - we got the power, and you don't!" TW

Limbaughs true genius lies in his ability to use the liberals own words and deeds against them. This is done very cleverly and with an abundance of humor. Infuriated and unable to refute the facts and the evidence, liberals, and especially the kook left wing, must resort to name calling in a futile attempt to somehow make Limbaugh look irrelevant. It's not working. Limbaugh is as popular as ever. American political theatre at it's finest. You've gotta love it.

Rush Limbaugh has always come across to me as someone who feels they are intellectually superior to any who hold opposing viewpoints. I'm sure glad none of us here are like that! Certainly there are no liberals who would simply be mirror images of this arrogance, no way, no how. Oh no, they’re above that, basically a higher order of beings. They feel things more deeply than the rest of us - just ask them. They’ll explain what superior, more caring creatures they are. What a wonderful world it would be we would just be more like them. Oh no, no arrogance there at all.

TW....what you call "vile garbage" has been proven to be accurate more times than not. The liberals were so befuddled by Limbaughs sucess and frightened by his "lies" they tried to create their own version of talk radio called Air America to refute him. Nobody listened, and they got their own dose of reality.Limbaugh is a showman, no doubt, but one that has been very effective whether you will admit it or not. The old saying,"the truth hurts" applies here. Most liberals have written him off at their own peril. I believe most are just plain scared to listen.

Oh, one other thing - and please don't mistake this for support for Rush et al in ANY way. Rush obviously caters to the "Religious Right" and people of simliar beliefs. By way of comparisson of registered voters, those who identify themselves as "deeply religious" and "Republican" outnumber both blacks AND Hispanics! This statistic floored me. I had no idea that the "Religious Right" was such a huge bloc of voters.

Rush Limbaugh's errors and gross misrepresentation of fact are legend. Do a Google search for "Rush Limbaugh" and "errors" and maybe you'll learn something, poboy1. Those of us who inhabit a place called "reality" have problems with the vile garbage he puts out. People who inhabit "fantasy" worlds are the ones who gobble up his acerbic tripe at face value. "Professor" - I see your point. TW

The degree of hatred for Rush Limbaugh is directly proportional to the effectivnes he has had in exposing the kook left wing in this country. Can you imagine what these nutjobs would be getting away with if it wasn't for Limbaugh's exposing it? He is eating their lunch and they can't stand it. My, my how the tables have turned.

Give this tired "rumor" a rest. And forget Novak, forget Rush...... Wolf Blitzer interviewed him several weeks ago......... The answer? "No". Why don't you try circulating rumors of Colin Powell running with McCain, or with Condie Rice. That ought to placate the melonoma melodrama..........

Come on, TW - it's an honor to be truly considered for that office, even if it is by those 2 (not my favorites, by a long stretch). I mean, Hillary is one step above Stalin in my book, but if she called and said I was 1 of 5 being considered for VP, I'd be honored. I would never take it, but I'd certainly be honored. And, on another point, I'm just glad that a public official in our state is being recognized for doing a good job! I'm so sick of reading the national news talking about Dollar-Bill Jefferson, Whore-Mongering Vitter, Vagina-Friendly Nagin, and whoever the heck else is making news nowadays!

Steve, do you really think it's an "honor" to be mentioned favorably by that hate-spewing junkie Rush Limbaugh? One of my favorite jokes: what's the difference between "Barney" and Rush Limbaugh? One is a dinosaur with overly simple ideas, and the other one is purple. Also, I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Bobby Jindal is too conservative for national office. He clearly wants it - he's got an insatiable appetite for power, but playing to the yahoo vote here won't have done him any favors on that day in the future when he tries to make it on the national stage.
