Louisiana Senator David Vitter willed be spared from asking personal and embarrassing questions.U.S. District Judge Gladys Kessler canceled the hearing Wednesday that was set for later this month.Vitter had been linked to the Washington Madam prostitution case and Deborah Palfrey wanted to use a civil matter to establish that a woman that might have had sex with Vitter engaged in rogue behavior breaking the contract between her and Palfrey.Kessler said the hearing served no purpose in the case.
Vitter has apologized for what he calls a "very serious sin".He has not responded to any specific questions regarding the nature of the sin.Vitter was subpoened to testify in the case but the Judge felt it was unnecessary.
Vitter hails from Metairie which is a suburb of New Orleans and had been a State Representative and a US Congressman.
Frankly, dears, we encouraged that man to stand up and act as one and appear to give testimony. Why, because he is being singled out and there are many more who would be a testament to stupidity. David Vitter not only committed a criminal act, while on the public payroll, but he also was STUPID. Now, we continue to demand that all records of the D.C. Madame and the local Canal Street Madame be displayed for public scrutiny. It is about time that the public be allowed to know the reprehensible facts about who represents them in public office, who they employ as attorneys and doctors, who might even be members of the clergy, etc., etc. We can pick on one man but there are many more, who actions are as troubling as those of David Vitter. Stop picking on one man and pick on all of those on the list. Where is Josie Arlington when she is needed? In fact, where is the news media when you really need them? When ignorant people cannot debate an issue intelligently, they use name calling and simplistic, superficial slogans like "holier than thou." Sen. Vitter led the charge against President Clinton because of the Lewinsky affair and said that he should resign, an opinion with which I concur. Not only did Clinton disgrace the Oval Office, but he knowingly lied in federal court. This same "family values" Vitter said that Bob Livinston should resign while a congressman for a serious of affairs, one after the other. Then Congressman Vitter was taking calls while on the House floor debating and voting on issues. There are national security implications for congressmen voting on serious issues while consistently cavorting with whores on the side. Not only were Sen. Vitter's actions disgraceful and shameful, he engaged in an illegal activity. If you believe it should be legalized, as a "family values" senator, sponsor a bill to legalize it---stop breaking the law--we sent you there to obey the law, not break it. Until it is legalized, as one of the 100 most powerful legislators in the United States of America, obey the law. To add to the senator's complete lack of character, he lied about his illegal and shameful activity on radio programs when the senator's sexcapades were going on. The whoremongering Vitter has done what he has castigated others for and demanded that they resign---only his actions are far more reprehensible and hypocritical. It's not about "holier than thou"---try hypocritcial to the extreme, and illegal activity at the time.
