Gustav Lodging Tightness: Louisiana, Mississippi Katrina Fears

With Gustav still trying to make up its mind whether it is a hurricane or a tropical storm and what part of the globe it will cause havoc, because the forecasts currently point to New Orleans area, and because the memories of Katrina are so vivid, there are very few rooms available in Louisiana and Mississippi and even Arkansas.  This is true although we are still days away from a possible touch down of the storm.

A quick check of the computer web sites such as the American Automobile Association shows that it is very difficult to locate any availability.

So, as part of the “to do” list:  Get a room by phone or online.

Make a plan if you don’t have one already, but item one should be a place to hang your hat.  Judging from what is available from computer searches the pickings are slim right now, but, if you wait, your room could be many miles away and way too late to find close quarters.
